Horiguchi listening to Caldwell's coach was the funniest thing ever to me. You could even see him smile partway through since Caldwell stopped playing neutral and just started listening to his coach.

堀口はスタイル的にケージの方が強い。 ただどの場面でもスタイルを変えれる適応力がある。それは、打撃や寝技、スピード、距離感全てにおいて優れてるから。

It was all about fighting a guy that was trying to play it safe. Caldwell was stalling the clock witha "Dominant position" but that alone, with No Advancement of said position is nothing in a fight.. The reff let them stay on the ground Way too long. .So I guess we could say that Horiguchi still preformed well enough to win with his ass on the mat and back against the cage..XD

Of course, there is no doubt that Horiguchi is also a wonderful player.

what did Darrion expect when he just laid on him and didn't do any damage from round 2-5. Darrion needs to move up in weight , the cut has to drain him. Leave 135 for the shorter smaller guys. I bet Darrion walks around at 170 , it's stupid to cut that much to fight smaller guys

試合は地味だったが、かなりのグラウンドテクニック。少しずつ身体をずらして冷静に戦っているのは、圧巻でした。

それな。コールドウェルのテイクダウンにゲージ際で背中つかずに座るだけでもすごい。あれで背中ついてたら判定で負けてた。

It's crazy Caldwell wouldn't let up his grip at all to try to land any strikes but uh...what's also crazy is he was doing his best work on the feet but seemed deathly determined to not fight there

I think Horiguchi can be ranked 1st or 2nd in the UFC bantamweight. What he should do is compete with tougher opponents and fight more often.

@@seanhickey1999 at the time, Kyoji was pretty young and up and coming. DJ was in his absolute prime and nobody could touch him. Not saying Kyoji won that fight if not for the last minute sub, but that he was showing DJ up better than anyone else in the UFC could do at the time. I was really impressed at how good Kyoji was at the standup in comparison to DJ because he made it competitive against DJ while everyone else usually lost pretty easily. It was too bad that UFC didn't keep him longer or Kyoji decided to go elsewhere. It's pretty clear that Kyoji was a special talent even back then in his loss to DJ.

I think Horiguchi’s record should have one less loss. I thought he beat Tenshin Nasukawa. He has a lot of class in winning and in defeat. Very humble.

The tenshin fight should’ve went to 4 rounds but kickboxing doesn’t do that unless it’s a 5 round title fight.
