Years ago, one of my coworkers told everyone she had cancer. She was never specific, just “Oh, I have cancer.” She would leave mid-day and show up late often, claiming to be going to treatments. People felt bad for her situation, so they’d go out of their way to make things easier for her at work by taking on some of her duties on top of their own. She eventually admitted to lying about having cancer and was fired. IMO, that’s a very disgusting thing to lie about it. Anyone who lies about it deserves to get it. 🤢

I loved that interview. She was there to take no BS. I love when she says "Truth, Bell. Truth."- in a warning tone. She didnt tiptoe around any difficult topics. It really pissed me off at the end when Bell claimed that she stopped the treatments because she was pregnant. (I belive she was lying, she evoked pregnancy to gain MORE sympathy) and Tara was like- Nope. Not having it.
@D_skeptic
@D_skeptic 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, Tara handled that extremely well. But I think Belle knows exactly what the truth is… she just doesn’t care. She will never ever admit she lied because it requires admitting you are a predatory scumbag, pathological liar, & at minimum, possess many of the same traits as sociopaths. Her ego just wont allow that kind of self-deprecating honesty. All of that said, if someone was so foolish that they believed eating your fruits & veggies could cure what would have been Stage 4 cancer (if she had not made the whole thing up)…? I just find it real hard to have much sympathy for them. Those people would have found someone else’s bullshit to buy hook, line, & sinker if they hadn’t encountered Belle. They’d be looking for cancer-curing spells, herbal remedies, some self-reported reiki master with magic hands, or some other such nonsense. If you require no proof or even a shred of convincing evidence in the face of extraordinary claims, someone will always be there to tell you a fairytale and take your money. And frankly, this sounds a bit like natural selection at work… 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just tried to watch it, but had to stop it after a bit. I just can't. There's something about her face that is so oddly confusing. No real and normal expressions on her face, just a stiff mask that is crafted to look suffering no matter what she's talking about. I don't think she was using botox at her young age, so probably this mask-like face must be connected to her mental disorders. While I get it that sometimes people don't have a lot of expressions going on in their faces, for example some people on the autism spectrum, her face is just annoying to watch because it's stuck in faking suffering. I hope she gets a diagnosis and treatment at some point, so that people will not be all either deceived by her or annoyed with her, and I hope that at some point she will grasp what she had done.

The impact she had was probably much worse than we know. What about her claim that a vaccine caused her cancer. How many people were influenced by that and suffered the consequences of that decision. Sure it was their choice but they were coerced by what was believed to be a reputable source.

I lost both my amazing parents to cancer in 2011 about 6 months apart. It has taken a lot to process. I was hurt so bad I couldnt cry untill I got into therapy a couple years ago. People who lie about having cancer to steal support that could have gone to a person truly in need are pathetic.

"Giving people false hope is one of the worst manipulation based offenses someone can commit." SO perfectly said, Dr. Grande! I think she'd have to be an all out psychopath to decieve vulnerable, desperate people so horribly, and to not even take responsibility for her actions. I love the Very interesting and informative parts of your videos SO much! ♡ Human nature fascinates me.

Just an added thought, in terms on 'intentionality'. My impression is that Belle had such deep wounds from issues around abandonment and neglect, that she was incapable of being aware of the needs and sensitivities of others. She found that exaggerating serious personal health crises brought a profound influx of unconditional attention, pity, and resource. Since successful behavior repeats itself, the situation escalated quickly beyond what she could imagine or handle. When she found she had painted herself into an inextricable corner, she surrendered to the process and went with the flow, even facilitating the process. In a nutshell, she didn't have the cognitive complexity or the necessary powers of organization to purposely craft such a successful fraud: she simply blundered stepwise into the evolving fantasy and it happened to harmonize with, or resonate with the heartstrings of the public. Simply put: Belle's behavior is clueless and stumbling, and through somewhat understandable self-absorption and self-centeredness, she blundered into success and popularity. What a debacle!

Ugh I had a friend just like Belle. Moved onto my property after having "long haul COVID", leaving trash everywhere, going on two vacations without paying a dime in rent, and using her donation money from GoFundMe. When she found out I reported her actions to her GoFundMe sponsor, she filed a false police report and restraining order. Filled with lies, accessing her computer and stealing mail, stealing money, threatening her with a knife and arson. On the police report she claims she can't remember anything, and she showed up to the restraining order hearing in a wheelchair. I've lawyered up and spent almost 6k to fight this woman, who I assume is some combo of borderline and pathological liar. She lies just as much and as terribly as Belle.

She has faced almost no penalties. She's served no jail time and despite supposedly being forced to repay the money she stole she's repaid almost none of the $300k+ of ill gotten donations. I remember watching the 60 minutes Australian show. I couldn’t believe what I was watching. I had this over whelming desire to give her a good slap. I’m interested in your analysis of her & I wonder if she help herself?? I’d say yes she does not having empathy (is that the right word?) for her victims. Yet if she’s just looking to scam people, does she just switch that off??!! I noticed she blames everyone else to save her own skin. She’s either unable or chooses not to accept blame. I’m trying to look at from a behavioural point of view, which was an area I worked in. Yet I think of the harm she’s caused people, my brother had cancer & she’s the sort of person that would’ve listened to her . Especially as he lived in Sydney. I don’t see her stopping her scams but I hope I’m wrong.

Dr. Grande, this is sickening. I do not even know how to express myself adequately with this subject, having seen my 5 year old little man battle against that hellacious disease for 2 and a half years and, also, my mother at the same time. A person that fakes something like this definitely has no sense of humanity, compassion, etc, etc, etc. I will not go on because I am tempted to use not pretty words when it comes to this subject, specially in this kind of way. Sickening! Nonetheless, you are always a voice of reason, peace, knowledge and always hope by the way you share your videos with us. I am not a believer, but if god exists, may he bless you. Having an out-of-body experience can be considered a near-death experience but it isn't death, otherwise you won't be here now. No doctor or nurse can bring anyone back from death but can prevent a wasteful death with timely & appropriate actions. I think that's where the sarcasm comes in & is applied when the term "death" is used instead of "out-of-body experience ". Death is final.
