I found an old set of videos from back in 2020. This is of a belling tool used in the Foundation drilling industry. These tools help cut a wider footprint at the bottom of drilled shafts in dirt. It provides a wider base for the concrete to help support the column. Follow along as I make some repairs to a torn off Wing. Thank you for your support and please consider subbing. Thank you guys.

"Didn't want to work today". "Maybe...Hopefully....Sorta"...! I don't know about anyone else, but I found those moments amusing. Anyway that's a cool tool. You must be a valuable asset to the drilling guys. Everything they do is trying to rip their machinery to bits up from day one. Kinda like rock crushers! Cheers

Learn something new all the time. Did not know that plasma did not care about dirt, while oxyfuel does not like rust.

Its pretty easy actually. The other side is conplete so you just make a mirrored copy of it. The hardest part is the out of position welding and that's not even really hard if you know how to do it.

Outstanding repair! Just goes to show how practical knowledge, years of experience, a can-do attitude, and confidence gets the job done. I'm certain that many welders would fail here even if they had engineer drawings! You do get balls deep in some tough and interesting repairs, proper respects to you, my friend! Thank you for the videos, Happy Thanksgiving!

Who else would agree i think i could watch a couple of hours of this. The welding and techniques are so good a lot can be learned by just watching. No need for the fast forwards. Great video. Go to see not every job is smooth. Gives some of us hope that even the professionals have a hard time sometimes.

Belling increases the bearing surface of the pier. Piers are supported by the bearing surface and the skin friction on the sides of the pier. They are commonly used in southeast Texas (Houston area, USA) where soils have a low load bearing capacity. Among other uses, they are often placed under traditional grade beams to support traditioal concrete slab construction.

Adapting to a plasma torch when you are use to oxy/act, is a challenge but worth the effort. I see you cutting with your welding shield whichI found too dark. I use the grind function on an auto darkening shield or regular cutting goggles and have never experienced any eye problems. I wish I had a higher amperage plasma cutter but don’t do enough heavy work anymore to justify one. I can cut 3/8 but 1/4 is the comfort zone. I pay a penalty now for my bottle rentals because I don’t use enough gas. I do like your aluminum cutting guides

I see the plasma cutter works on the same principle of a pressure washer. It doesn't seem to matter what angle you use it at or where you stand it blows back at you. I guess the only difference is instead of soaking your clothes it sets them on fire. :-) Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
