As a fellow lady bag-fanatic, so happy to hear your wife's perspective! Suggestion: next time, have her put on and model the bag like you do with height/weight info. It'll be helpful to have a size reference closer to myself. Also, I appreciated the pep talk toward the end. It's important to be reminded of our own privilege and how we fit into the world.

You know you’re addicted to the channel when you watch a bag video of a bag you own. Thanks Chase! Couple of notes from my use for anyone concerned. It’s absolutely unisex, dressed up, or down. The moss color appears grey in some lights, and a beautiful green in others (natural lighting). I get compliments on this at least once a week during my commute. Very thoughtful organization without having too many crannies to creep. There’s a noticeable difference between collapsed and expanded mode. Weather protected actually works well! I love that hiding the straps gives it a sleek look, great for walking into meetings. What would I like to see different? Anti-slip material on the bottom. The bag slides down onto the floor often. Longer shoulder straps since I’m 6’3” would be nice but not a deal breaker. Otherwise the bag is great for my daily needs.

I have the bellroy classic plus . Unless it’s on carpet it slips over al the time . I bought a Heroclip which has solved that issue . I’m 6foot4 and agree about the short straps . They just need to make em a tiny bit longer .. I get a ton of compliments on my bellroy too . They really are something special..

drizlax Yes to the hero clip! I use mine ALL THE TIME from travel to daily commuting on a train. Genius product! That certainly helps keep it upright.

Paul Ho i attach it to my bag and just hang it off stuff so the bag stays upright . I wasn’t sure how useful a heroclip would be until I got one .. they’re pretty dope ..

Hey! You got your roost stand. Congrats! Belroy is certainly a huge step up in thoughtful, intentional design and materials. You really can't go wrong with their gear if the style suits you. Even their notebook covers are spectacular. As a designer I even find myself inspired by their design of things. Their design is thoughtfully deep, far beyond the sketches well into every single detail. Perfectionism.

I had this bag for a month and decided to return it and got the Bellroy Shift instead. Missed the number of organizations in the tote but the small size looks a little awkward on my back as I am a little overweight and have broad shoulders despite being only 5'8. The Shift looks a lot better and I love that I can stuff a jacket in there. Sure hope they come up with a Shift 2.0 with the same organizations as the tote, that'll be amazing!

I am very, dangerously, tempted by this bag. However, without being able to sling those handles over the shoulder, it's more of a handbag with backpack convertibility. I have the Fjallraven Totepack and the Timbuk2 Convertible Backpack Tote (2 colors), and am really obsessed with totes for guys. The freedom provided by being able to carry it in so many ways, all of which are so well executed and comfortable is really life changing. It stops me in my tracks every time I switch from one mode to another, especially the Fjallraven Totepack backpack mode, it's such a great party trick. Although they might not have as many built-in organizers or padding like this Bellroy, they offer that extra mode of a shoulder bag like a messenger or duffel. For now, I'm going to have to convince myself that that's enough to prevent me from buying this bag too.

I passed on the bag because of the small size .. but I did pick up your Western Rise jacket. I am 5’9”, about 175lbs and the small size fits me like a glove 👍

You’re right super bag for the pros but damn priced at the top end - $329 Canadian is a bit crazy but I guess if people will buy a $1400 phone... I’d love to have seen some brighter fabric, especially in the front org pocket since it’s so tight it’s a bit hard to see everything but yeah I’d use this bag and might actually pick it up if I can swallow the overpricing and of course if it fits my non-Apple laptop which so many manufactures use as a reference size even though it has sub 20% of the market (sorry rant due to so many bags being an inch (JUST AN INCH) to small due to this practice. I also agree even though it’s a bit bulky it’d be a great bag to pack inside your luggage. When travelling I’d use it like a packing cube then empty it and use it as my day bag when I hit my location.

I am so in love with this bag, but I need a secondary external pocket like on an old-school Jansport or Herschel backpack. I have to carry an insane amount of prescriptions with me, so I keep an entire pocket full of bottles, pill boxes and an instant coffee or two. My best solution is the Timbuk2 Convertible Backpack Tote (BOGO 50% Off!) and I like the haul handles since they can be hand or over-the-shoulder length, but I wish it had a bit more structure. Even though it mostly can stand upright on its own, it can be a little floppy. Great overall bag, but I keep eyeing others like this Duo and the Tokyo.

this is probably one of the most in-depth review of the duo totepack. I just wish the primary camera position is a bit higher so we're not looking up and its difficult when you want to show the insides of the bag. I think it'd make a bit more sense for the camera to be a bit higher looking down. Still, great review!

Another beauty of a bag from Bellroy. A big fan of their designs particularly this bag, their wallets, and their pencil cases. I still can't see myself spending that much on a bag though. Bellroy's designs are so amazing but the price. UGH. I wish I had the money to spend on their bags.

Can you do best "alien ware" laptop backpacks for laptops up to 17"? For most of these super cool bags, 15" laptops won't fit because they are thicker than the 15" macbook pro.

I would love to see a show-and-tell on Brown Buffalo's Helmet Bag. Just because it has the shoulder-straps-to-tote thing, more reasonably priced and with a different "fashion sense". I don't know about creeping the crannies.... and I'd like to learn... but we all know about materials and workmanship from Brown Buffalo, at least.

So the secret pocket is where you hide your Wacky Baccy stash? For the record, the reason Belroy bags are so well designed is that the founders of Belroy are Australian Hippies. The name actually comes from a combination of Bells Beach (featured in the movie 'Point Break' with Swayze and Reaves) where they surf, and Fitzroy where they do their Hippie stuff.

Keep forgetting to let you know @Chase, there is another Aussie bag manufacturer you should reach out to: www.blackwolf.com.au/packs--bags/ I LOVE their bags! I have had one of their Oxford 30 bags for over twelve years now, use it as a DCB, carry-on (it slips underneath even the economy airline seats and I can slip out my laptop from the back section without even pulling the bag out from under the seat), even as a shopping bag, and apart from the black mesh on the shoulder straps looking like a shitty brown now, there is nothing wrong with the bag at all. It has been from the top of Australia to the bottom, and not even a stitch has come undone. And plenty of molle straps, D-rings, etc, so it is also a technical pack.

I´m happy with this bag, but for me personally 2-3 compartments are missing. Since I don't use a wallet (because I misplace wallets), I needed (1) a small pocket for cash and (2) another for a stack of credit cards. The third thing that was missing for me was (3) a handy place to put 6-7 pens. (There is a pen spot but it only fits one pen.) Also, there are a total of 6 long/deep/thin pockets, which make it kind of like a file cabinet. I can't imagine anyone actually needing 6 long/deep/thin pockets (one for laptop, one for padlet, one for misc., another for misc., and the other 2...?). Personally, I think if they eliminated 1 or 2 of those it would simplify things and one would have more space to slide in something a little bulky like a camera, small box, or big water bottle. Finally, I agree with a comment below that it would be great if there was something waterproof or a little grippy on the bottom. Many of us at some time will have to put the bag on a dirty or damp floor and most of us don't live in Japan where they have baskets on the floor for your bag! In any case, it's one one of the best quality bags I have and I really appreciate the minimalist and unisex look! I'm hoping it will last a long time.

Hi, how are you? like your videos! want to buy one of these, duo or tokyo, cant decide, can you advice) sometimes need as one day trip bag, usually took with myself laptop, ipad, maybe one t-shirt, and pijama for one night at hotel) normally as day to day to office life laptop ipad and small thing for office. so which is ok, Tokyo bag used 1week, and bit roomy for day to day but ok for 1 day business trip, but didnt have duo. help) but wonder for duo) thanks

I’m probably going to buy one if my laptop fits but when I asked Bellroy about sizing I got ambiguous answers. My laptop dimensions are: 14.2 x 9.7 x0.7. Only if you have time. I actually love that it's more of a tote, with the long shoulder straps that convert into the backpack. As nice as this Bellroy bag is, it's more of a handbag, since you can't sling it over the shoulder as a tote, just with the backpack straps.

I love to watch your videos of bags that I will definitively don't have any plan to purchase just because the way you can crack me up when you say: ......... your papers......... your business papers........ man? 😂 And your wife is not only gorgeous but super natural in front of the camera, so you should do more reviews together (although I bet you'll look uglier when you stand at her side) ☺️

I found the bag had too much organisation and weight for the amount of capacity it has. There was simply too much padding for laptops and tablets that took up too much room i wish it was lighter! If they were removable that’d be awesome but since they aren’t I’m gonna be selling mine :(
