❤ hi :) i hope you are very well. i had to do some ding repairs on the rook (some hairline cracks and a small marble sized crack that needed some foam extraction to lower rot possibility, on the pin tail, which happened somehow in my possession during some bigger, overhead perhaps, days) and another small marble sized ding repair on the rail that started as a crack when i got the board and progressed to some foam rot, so i went ahead and fixed things in the parking lot of the lil break ive been surfing). anyway, had it in the water yesterday and today and super duper stoked :) (i need some more boards, a lil quiver sitchyuaysheyonnay (situationné) (aka situation) so that im not without some blades, some rip sticks, some boards, and able to surf regardless of inevitable occasional mishaps, or for 'variety' within a narrow spectrum (i like what i like and i dont want too much variance, to disrupt surfing progress) without the impatience and urgency of repair to get back in the water. im wondering what happens to your boards when you move on to newer ones, or ones brit makes for you to try and you like some more than others (what happens to the other less liked samples?) and the like, because i love the board i am riding, and would like perhaps more in the 6'2", 6'3", 6'4", 6'6" (of course, thats my jam), and maybe maybe 6'1", 6'0" (no smaller than 6'0" for me, probably :) or, i wonder if CI has an actual dumpster diver situation that i could find some blades in that are in less than brand spanking new condition, which would ease my stress levels because i am more interested in charging less than perfect waves and i dont want to destroy new boards (that i cant afford anyway) on board risky behavior :) i try to take care of my beloved rook 15, but i probably take a little more chances than i would if i had other boards to subject risk to. but its my one and only. also, if CI has like an old stack of 80s blades with good rocker, you know, for fast piping racy cloeoutty type steep and barrel waves, that no one else wants because they should all be buying new boards from CI, that i could pull out of the dumpster or stack, for cheap, and not have to spend my days resin repairing to use (because the point is to surf, and surf some more, and then surf a lot lot more), then i would be stoked :) basically, your hand me downs, or, old CI 80s blades, or both is what im asking for :) i almost bought a board from another known 80s blade shaper, but i did not because i kind of like uniformity and brand loyalty, if possible, and if i can 'afford' some beater (but good shapes) boards that i can basically take risks with in very shallow rock infested beach break, at every tide, in every condition, because its more important to be in the water than sit around gazing at almost useless tidal charts, etc, that would be good :) since you are ms channel islands, maybe you have a suggestion :) i think i will go to the shop soon and ask them. anyway, thats me. loving so very much my rook, and even more thankful for it than ever, after having to repair it and care for it even more, and not be able to be in the water (which is punishing. i need at least one sesh, preferably more, a day :) anyway, thats me. also, just so you know, im still and may not graduate to standing (unless on a tom curren black beauty 6'6" or happy traveler 6'6", etc) riding on my knees, due to my physical condition. but i like it and if thats all i get to do, im so happy :) ok. thats it for now. im outtie :) be good :)

On top of the quality surfing from the pros , whoever picks the soundtrack for these videos is on another level, like that incubus, soundgarden, RATM sound goes, goes so well with surf clips.

❤ PS- also, just so you know, surf style and technique for me basically starts and ends with tom curren, tom caroll, and occy, basically 1980 to like 1990/91/92 pre kelly slater, rob machado, shane dorian potato chip new generation 'ripper' style with bad religion soundtracks (im all about inxs and others on my tracks :) you 'kids' and your airs and fancy tricks and extreme turns :) i cant relate. that said, i do like watching you ladies surf and rip, so i still and will always support you, even if i will never even try, nor aspire to, surf similarly. so if i ever seem 'stuck' in the neon daze, and the new waves of new romantic post punk dark goth candy bubble gum pop sounds of the 1980s, its because i am, and hopefully wont be taken as disinterest or dismissal :)

Was this before the contest again, WSL knows how to miss the swell event. Would have been awesome to watch the comp in those free surf conditions

❤ i was thinking on you today and wondering how you are and how things are going on tour, as i was walking back to the car after a session, and then there was your video posted an hour previous. excellent video, great camera work and production. your surfing looks so strong and powerful. those gouging top turns, snaps, and carves, all with lots of spray look great, and the arms and body positioning on your turns / cutbacks look great. that right hand drag water tap on your deep bottom turn looked cool and was a nice style element. you are looking in very strong top form and very very solid. excellent wave riding :) proud of you, cheering for you :)

this comp was hard to watch... Your first waves should have gone above a 6... I was really frustrated by that judging call especially when careers are on the line .01 is such a small separation. good luck at margaret river you are always so fun to watch at that wave. I love rewatching your heat against gilmore where you got your first win against her and went on to win the event. keep charging!!

Many saying Medina being the Anaconda in surf. How many here ever did surf with him near by? Bet not a single one ever did, if a few did bet all will say is not true at all Now years ago was on the gold coast for few days, was on my way to Bali. Went to surf Snapper for the first time, when i saw the crowd thought Is it worthy or not, sure i had to . Knew I had to play hard, not snaking but paddle hard, fast and around Got a few good waves that were my. Next day Joel was there, never saw any human like him The guy had no respect, would drop in over anybody Look for any footage with him surfing there, after write me and tell your thoughts
