Honestly I'd like the hero classes to be more focused on class fantasy rather than actual mechanics. Like Paladins having a Scarlet Crusade and Silver Hand options that change spell color, offer special mogs and maybe glyphs and even special interactions with other players of the same hero spec.

A big warband base where you can see your characters just hanging out would be so cool

Imagine if the warbands login screen evolved into a kind of player housing concept. It could even solve the question of player housing if done right. Cosmetic unlocks but feels rewarding and personal. They could pursue a garrison style vibe, sims vibe, the possibilities really are endless

I’m just glad that a casual player like me finally not getting penalized for not raiding or M+ EVERY single week. I like the direction they are taking that makes gear progression agnostic to whatever the player wants to do. I would just hope that they are thinking of bringing back professions in this manner too. The public order system was a great concept, but a huge misfire on execution during DF launch.

As someone who got the Tusks of Mannoroth on their monk a couple of years ago and couldn’t bring myself to vendor them, I really hope that the account-wide transmog will apply to things already acquired, because I’ve got tons of plate toons and the Tusks refuse to drop for any of them 😂

Being able to unlock transmog account wide is actually an incredible change. Never been a fan of instance lockouts but I get why they're around. This'll make it feel like time wasn't wasted if you do not get the thing you were after.

Having the garrison, the garden of Pandaria, the Class Hall, and a Warband settlement link through portals. Being able to assign your characters to task for any of your settlements. Being able to customize your Warband settlement with loot gain from achievements and seasonal events. Give me that an you got me back forever. I mean and ever.

Warbands is the missing element from Garrisons to actually make Player Housing a great thing

Warbands is stand-out and enticing. However, Delves are now grabbing my interest. Having a more laid-back form of dungeons with Heroic Raid-level gear potential, alongside its place in the weekly vault, will draw a lot of more relaxed players in. Bravo.

They need to allow Fury warriors to transmog one handers over two handers if they want the 'Mountain Thane' fantasy to be fully realised, or at least make single minded fury a baseline passive. Also they need to give Demon Hunters the Dracthyr soar.

Can we get the old UI back. & the old Camera / Toon scale…

I like all of this. Honestly, it's been quite a long time since I was actually anticipating a new expansion.

I am SO EXCITED to come back to the game. I've been a habitual quitter about a year in to every expansion so this fills me with so much joy to see all of the QOL improvements.

More and more account wide features for us insane altholics is a pure blessing, I want to be able to switch mains daily with literally 0 headache, make gold and other currencies Realm-wide etc as well. we need more and more of this especially for people who play WoW to drip out different races and gender of those in different ways.

Cross-Realm guilds and the big push for making the game more open to everyone on different realms. Warbands and having all your characters in one easy list. And the plethora of other changes. Genuinely looking forward to the future of retail.

My biggest wish for WoW has been a sword and shield DPS spec or class. Gladiator Stance prot warrior was so much fun. With some balance and refining it could be done.

Random thought but I’d love for them to add tights just like they have shirts for torsos. So if you love a leg mog but don’t like your skin showing, you can put tights on to cover your legs

And here we go again, another year of me, finally giving up and WOW after 15 years and coming back anyway for another expac.

My Guess/hope is that the warband system might evolve to a player house type settlement system, like an evergreen Garrison from WOD, where connected to the Delve mechanic you get cosmetics to display and can have your Delve NPC's hang out.

If Metzen can put up a great storyline to go with all these great features, this game will definitely rock!

What a great overview! So much info in a well organized and digestible way. I've been trying to get back into WOW with the dragonflight expansion, but SO much has changed since WOTLK and I feel like an outsider. It's hard to find people explaining things well.

I think the biggest issue with public profession crafting orders is all the orders that are put up that don't provide any materials and only provide 50g as payment. I've stopped even looking at public crafting orders because that's all I see on there

I for one would like to keep content lulls. I don’t enjoy feeling like I HAVE to play every day. That’s not a game, that’s a job.

I don't get to play often anymore (I have a toddler at home), but when I do, I enjoy it. I've been running lower level keys on a shaman and having a blast. Gearing is more intentional and feels controlled. There's an element of randomness that helps. My only beef right now is I need my tier set, but knowing I can get it for sure in a couple weeks is encouraging. I even got into a normal PuG raid and we blasted every boss until Fyrakk, but most of the gear I needed dropped before that so it was disappointing I couldn't stay until the end, but I don't feel too bad about it. Honestly as an true official "casual" player now, I'm pretty pleased with the game.

Blizzard has printed W's with Dragonflight and TWW seems to have even more awesome features, its a great time to play retail y'all.

Great video. Very excited for the next phase of WoW! That said, I have a little constructive criticism as a professional editor. I've noticed you guys have a lot of visible jump cuts happening under dissolves. I'm sure that happens because a base edit gets completed then dissolve transitions are added en masse after. Just something to keep an eye out for. Simple as moving the cut back a handful of frames so it occurs before the dissolve starts. Hope this didn't come across as too harsh. Just want to be helpful since it's something I've dealt with a lot. Cheers.

I actually feel worse when numbers are super high. I love stat squishes and wish they stayed in smaller number ranges for longer than they do now.

Just started playing vanilla a week ago and I've been loving it . Lots of learning but to do (19 years worth) but It's been a delight so far :D

I am conflicted about returning to WoW. I don't have that much time to play but did enjoy Raids and PVE content when I did play seriously. They do seem to keep us "filthy casuals" in mind though with a lot of the updated content. I just hope they offer returning players who also enjoy the lore some way of progressing through the story at our own pace. Would be nice if they did some sort of Caverns of Time thingy where returning players can get a linear lore quest chain for each expansion and relive the most vital parts to become updated with the lore and story.

That Transmog change was a long time coming. Hopefully in Midnight they just make it so all transmogs can be adaptive between plate through cloth. Something similar to what Swtor did.

Since it looks like we might be dealing with the Scarlets in Gilneas soon, it wouldn't surprise me if that set up the Arathi humans in the War Within somehow. What they have shown so far gave me a of Scarlet Crusade vibes. Blizzard also said they got down there relatively recently but couldn't say why because of spoilers.

crafting orders would be cool to have like an eso style daily crafting writs which are basically dailies you craft stuff for in each profession and then you get mats as rewards

About the Dracthyr's Soar tho, are they also going to get "static" flying? As someone who jus started seeing the warbands and seeing our alts being on screen is pretty neat! The new Hero Specs seem pretty cool, something to look forward to! Been getting into PVP and as a solo player this is a win imo aha

16:35 i gotta say the one thing i have thoroughly enjoyed more in classic is the guild system lol, with the exception of guild just sending out macro'd spam invites, they feel a lot more like a guild then in retail where i usually forget that i even joined one most of the time

I hope we get some sort of player housing like the strongholds they have in the Star Wars mmo

Be cool if the war band is brought in in a way where you can see some of the NPC’s replaced with your ALTS walking around in one of the towns and if you don’t have any ALTS then it’s just random characters so that way for everyone sees the same NPCS but the name and the appearance changes if you have Alts.

Hero talents need to just be an evergreen feature that is all RP/flavor like glyphs and they just pour into that and add stuff from every patch taht would make sense. Change the color of a spell or make your bear form undead looking or become a dark paladin or whatever man

The single biggest issue with the Public work order system is that it gets flooded with assholes who want you to craft expensive high end gear for them essentially for free that they're almost assuredly going to flip on the AH for a huge profit. If we as players had tools for weeding them out (IE an ignore function) along with opening recrafting to public orders (seriously, why does it have to be either guild or character specific?). Also, a tutorial system for players so they understand how the POs work would probably help a lot.

I'd like the hero classes to be talents for making your character more tanky-healer like to create challenging PvE Solo content just like in mage tower but with heroic raid gear rewards.

I liked dragonflight and thought it was a huge step in the right direction from shadowlands and seems like war within will continue to itterate and make these systems even better. The only thing lacking was the main story. Hopefully the war within will provide that too. Excited for the new expac!

I am really hoping that, with Microsoft backing them and their knowledge of networking and servers because of the whole Azure technology, that they can drop region boundaries. It would be nice to return to using local currency instead of having to swap to the NA shop and use USD for my sub and getting expansions just to play with NA friends. Whether I could move all my characters over to be more EU focused outside of joining up for dungeons/raids/open world I guess might be tricky for them, but I would appreciate having a lot less latency.

The cosmetic changes where everything unlocks regardless is gonna be a godsend for my fashion game

Each class needs a quest line like the fel fire one for warlocks, where it gives you a small buff but gives you a choice of cosmetic flairs that add to your spells.

Will I be able to change between dynamic and normal flight at will (via a button on my bar), or will I have to talk to an npc? As a druid, I would still want to be able to herb and skin without using up vigor to bounce between sources, but still dynamic fly any other time.

This sounds interesting and hopefully easy to grasp. I know that WoW felt complicated and I stopped playing retail for classic. I wouldn't mind having a way for me to get back into retail as it looks gorgeous and fun. and I want to be able to play with my classic friends in retail. do you feel it will help folks like me to come back into retail?

all of this warband stuff is incredibly important to me as a player with several dozen alts for the sole purpose of farming old content, if all that stuff became account wide it would change everything for me for the better. already the azeroth dragon riding has been such a major improvement for me.

Hero talents feel more like Expansion wide Tier sets that you just get for leveling than any form of borrowed power. And I love that.

My Belf hunter pets are pretty tough. Thet have even taken on a Tourghast Boss and held their own.

Heres an idea blizzard: now i know it wouldnt be easy to balance but.. cross classes. Hunter/rouge=ranged assasin, warlock/dk=necromancer, warrior/mage=battlemage, etc. It would be a lot of fun and really refreshing.

5:24 I hope that this toggle is going to be per mount and not just a setting in the mount menu. That way you can simply have one mount you use for dynamic flight, and just mount the other if you want to afk while safely hovering.

What would blow my socks off? My warband is playable as an NPC party to accompany me on solo content/dungeons. I just think the agency you would have over being able to play and gear each toon and then have them do (sanctioned) content would be massive. People already love having multiple characters, but a real in-game reason to gear them up? Amazing. NPCs that you throw gear on just don't provide the same feeling of ownership as a full up character you've leveled with your own hands. There could even potentially be content where a party of players bring warbands to a "raid" or even PvP! A 5 man "raid" or dungeon with 25 characters sounds like a lot of fun.

I hope they actually keep stats squished for a change instead of instantly bloating them to max for raid progression. It's like, you reach level 60 on a new character and enter the dragon isles with an already beefy and bloated 30,000 HP. Then you start equipping dragon isles gear and your HP skyrockets to 150k. Then you enter the Dream and the gear you're getting bloats again to 500k+... It's absurd. Like, raid cap should be 10k for DPS and like, 20-30k for tanks. You should enter the expansion with like, 7k HP. Make the small stat point gains something valuable. Powercreep is absurd in WoW. And to make this an evergreen change, have the previous expansion's raid gear fall to raid-ready levels (8.5k HP) for the next expansion. Then if you miss an expac, your raid gear drops to slightly pre-raid ready level (8k HP), and stops going down from there. So even if you take a long hiatus, you're able to hop in, grind out what you need quickly, then jump straight in.

sounds good only thing am not a fa of is the lv raising again i liked the lv 60 cap make sleveling short ow its gonna be 80 again and the only way its not a drag is if the leveling goes fast so ones you hit 80 and oure only hafway through the next content you can just go on finishing the story collect the gear without the focus on lv. but i hope they wil either stop at 80 or at some point go back to 60-70,thats why i love the eso system the lv caps at 50 and transitions to champions points and all gained champio points are accountwide and implementable on a new charc aswel which means you can give them a nice extra boost from the start. i do like how wow is gonna do that with warbound gear.

The companion thing reminds me of swtor and if it’s good like that I’d be interested in playing again, but I kind of didn’t get far in dragonflight so it’s hard to jump into another expansion that I’m not even ready for because I haven’t finished the last one

Yeah, it's kinda crazy now that players from all region realms pool into the same bgs, we haven't seen some new ones. I really like the idea of solo rbg, which never occurred to me. That will be a great way to perfect your skills without feeling humiliated-a way more interesting practice dummy.
