@Delroy Brower Larry does both the Triple Crown races and The Breeders Cup on NBC. Coming July 10th, he will spending the summer as the race caller at Del Mar this year.

Watching this Larry Collmus might be the most underrated announcer in sports. He's calling the race, looking through the binoculars, and knows who each horse is. I would love a day in the life of this guy or something.

I absolutely love his voice for this sort of thing. It isnt too harsh, but not too soft. Racing may just be running, but its intense and can get you on your toes. His voice can give you goosebumps, perfect for this job!

@@treplay8846 Ah I see what you mean now. I watched something about this, they usually spend a good amount of time studying each race and familiarizing themselves with the jockeys, horses, and silks. They might even try to handicap the race to try to get an idea of what's going to happen.

Just way over the top due to the fact he knew he was being filmed. His phoney gestures and fake excitement came through loud and clear. He should have listened to the great Todd Creed who knew that the calling of the race was simply that.
