Hello everyone!
It's been quiet for a while now.
But I've been constantly working on videos etc...
So for now, here's one of them:
In April I got asked to do some session work for Belphegor because back then it looked like Simon Schilling (who's also their drummer now) wouldn't be able to play all of their shows due to some private reasons. So the guys wanted me to do some play-throughs so they could check if they'd like my style or not. And when I finally had everything tracked and sent over to Helmuth, Simon came back and said that he had managed everything and would be able play all the shows.
So unfortunately I didn't make it... But since I recorded everything I decided to upload the videos anyways.
Huge thanks to Sebastian Wurm from DreamCatchAudio for recording and Mathias Garmusch for mixing and always helping me out!

Although it looks a bit like swivel, David is actually playing heel up and move the ankles for a better control and to keep count. Still looks great though.

it's a combination. swivel is used for shifting the calf muscles to lighten the load and increase endurance. heel-toe is to get two strokes of the beater per heel movement for faster tempos.

+Paulo José I hate to be "that guy", but David's technique is irrelevant without hours and hours of hard work and perseverance. With that said, work on French grip with your hands and using your ankles for speed, and that will help develop the foundation for David's technique. But as I said, what is far more important is putting the hard work in - spending time watching KZfaq videos won't make you a faster drummer, spending time playing single strokes will make you a faster drummer.

+David Pardy Drums In fact, you can see that I am drummer, and use the same footprint that David uses, which is the German Grip, and in my course did not get on stage to perform Blast Beats, but as all studious and curious drummer, love break some rules and study not only the handouts, but every kind of technique I find irrelevant, and I loved watching Blast Beats with German Grip, so I asked for David to speed tips, Resistance and run both hands as feet. PS: I study 12 hours a day, and the rest of the time I get to know new bands and musicians, whether in magazines, TV, radio and KZfaq

Not just swivel technique either, he uses the swivel technique in a very 'different' way than most drummers. Typically you see drummers swivel their ankles either every note or second note, but David appears to swivel his ankles every third or fourth, which I think is a much better approach. David really is an excellent example of all the techniques he uses. I'd definitely say he's among the ranks of the best Metal drummers of today. He and KRIMH are two of my biggest inspirations when it comes to Extreme Metal drumming.

Can you please try to do a cover from Ulcerate? They have some of the most incredible, intricate and tasty drumming I've ever heard. It would be sweet to see more covers from them. Only 3 people have attempted them... either them, Archspire, Absu or Lykathea Aflame. Good job as always
