Without giving away my age too much but the Maypole dance and celebration was once popular here in the U.S. and was sometimes seen in the schoolyard. However certain organized religions [cough cough ] considered it served no purpose and time has let this wonderful time of play and celebration slip into the past.But today with many people returning , myself included, to a more realistic and basic belief system. Pagans and Wiccans rise and organize and be counted let our voices be heard!
@Master_Blackthorne4 жыл бұрын
Eddie, did you know that when France gave us the Statue of Liberty there were certain religious groups (also cough, cough) who objected to a Pagan (Hellenic) goddess being the first thing immigrants would see when they entered New York harbor? Like it was going to do any harm.

I don’t see it as garbage. I believe in it and it works for me. If it’s not your path that’s ok. A large part of Wicca is honoring your ancestors. Most of its sabbats are based on remembering and honoring your ancestors. I’m also from Irish/ Celtic descent which was originally pagan and Wiccan. Have a good day and blessed be.

I've done a lot of study of pagan traditions in the western world and videos like this have highlighted for me one major difference between pagan traditions an later religious practices and that's that the pagan festivals were fun! They were like party's rich in symbolism, tradition, and spirituality. No stuffy sermons given within temple walls but outside celebrating with music, poetry, art, and in todays world great costumes! Thank you for sharing this its been a pleasure.
