I've never seen anything remotely like this. They seem to embody European, Middle Eastern, Central and East Asian cultures--completely unique and beautiful. I'd rather watch this than any celebrities I can think of.

@@michelleg7 I went and looked it up. The Ubykh are one of several Muslim Circassian tribes who live around the eastern shores of the Black Sea, which is today part of Georgia. There's an article on Wikipedia. Part of the region is currently a disputed/war zone (I'm not going to get into it, but "Abkhazia" should ring a bell).

That's because this culture evolved at the geographic intersection between all those cultures you mentioned. The Ubykh people were nomadic, and so likely brought together many different cultural influences to create this wonderful uniqueness.

If you don't know that, it's because you haven't read the Islamic sources. Muhammad himself was a serial rapist, and according to the cultural standards of the pagans and Christians, a pedophile, and according to ALL the people of the time, he committed incest with his daughter-in-law. He also called for the assassination of many people who insulted him. This dance style is similar to many Slavic dances. If they are Muslim, they are bad Muslims, and the dance survived their corrupted version of Islam--to their benefit.

@@SadieMirsade Чем сильнее культура, тем быстрее и надёжнее она стирает малые народы. В Литве был народ Прусы. Странно, но славянский. Последние живые носители их языка умерли лет 100 назад. Это была территория Германии. Их не убили. Просто ассимиляция. При русских литовский язык не исчезал. Давление русской культуры было не слишком сильным. Теперь многие бабушки в Литве должны разговаривать с внуками по английски. Английский сильнее русского получается. Да и число литовцев сокращается драматически

Fascinating watching these young people perform their cultural dance. It must have taken them hours and hours of practice and dedication to perform with such precision and style. Good place for your particular comments. Circassians suffered one of the worst genocides of the 19th century. There's some shared experiences between their history and numerous indigenous American cultures. Amazing!, as a dance it has it all. Precise crisp movement from the boys, keeping excellent timing and maintaining the rhythm. The young ladies add softness with flowing graceful movement again I must praise the flawless intricate footwork and these wonderful young children deliver and how. You are all inspirational from your teachers to parents and the one who takes care of the splendid costumes. A proud , but yet in a gentle measured way . Love and light from Republic of Ireland.

I'm from America and woe! You made all of America look bad when we do have our traditions and our own culture. We're also a nation of many different ethnicities who migrated here from other countries, and they brought their culture dance and music here. And we have our I own America culture. If you saw vulgar dancing, that's just people dancing for fun to good dance music. People are having fun dancing in nightclubs to great dance. Who does vulgar dancing, and what kind of vulgar dancing? Maybe you saw it in strip clubs, lol

Isn’t there line dancing in America. That’s quite modest and fun. It’s popular here in Scotland as a means of keep fit. Less dangerous than a Ceilidh.

Beautiful dance, love that these kids are passionate about this. Love the costumes too. The boys looking so handsome and the girls so lovely. They move so gracefully. Bravo!!! This music is very moving. Beckoning you to join in!!

Our world, is so full of amazing & wonderful global regions, histories, peoples, languages, costumes, cultures, dances, food, music & the list goes on & on. Each are unique & beautiful in & of their own right. This amazing performance, by these superbly talented youngsters, is nothing short of incredible! They possess so much discipline, pride, energy & their traditional attire/costumes & dance moves/steps are formidable. Thank you for sharing with the world. The Girls are all so pretty in their beautiful costumes and they move so gracefully! The Boys are energetic, handsome and the athleticism of the solo dancers is awesome! I could watch them all day long!

Yes Dave as a group I agree they are quite magnificent! You can see there very young in this but are probably all in their mid twenties now and married.

This is truly a piece of the common heritage of humanity. While I have no connection to the Circassian peoples, I feel such pride in seeing these fine young dancers carry out an intricate ritual that I never even knew existed before stumbling upon this video. It is absolutely amazing, and these fine young dancers have so much to be proud of. May they carry on their tradition for a dozen more generations. This is truly special and I cannot give it high enough praise, I wish all of the people who made this possible, not only for the recording, but also for the past several hundred years that brought this to the internet from the depths of history the absolute best, may you be prosperous, healthy, happy, and wise in all your deeds and in all your days. Thank you so much for sharing.

Черкесское племя убыхов почти полностью погибло во время Кавказской войны , но молодцы другие их племена - живущие сейчас черкесы- за то, что сохранили культуру убыхов. Танцы черкесов-адыгов прекрасны!

Не погибли все убыхи . Большинство их в Турции ,как и др черкеские субэтносы шапсугов абдзахов и др . Мы живы и так же живем в несколтких аулах Срчинского района ,в Адыгее ,КБР

Богата народами? От убыхов только танец и остался. Русские вырезали этот народ во время Кавказской войны, остатки бежали в Османскую империю, где ассимилировались. Не осталось ни одного человека, который бы сейчас умел разговаривать на убыхском языке.

@@vetal215 зачем так далеко во времени примеры для сравнения искать ? Достаточно лишь 100 с лишним лет назад откатить , в Бельгию начала 20-го века . И поинтересуйтесь например Почему их тогдашнего короля Леопольда Второго прозвали "Кровавым мясником" за обыкновенный каучук .. История убыхов вам покажется детским лепетом . И убыхский народ с тогдашней Россией ВОЕВАЛ , за что и пострадал в результате той войны . А король Бельгии Леопольд Второй народы (!) в Конго (которое он сделал своей колонией) просто уничтожались ради прибыли в бизнесе каучука , который добывали в лесах Конго , для автомобильных колес в Европе . Колонизаторы местных жителей использовали как бесплатную рабскую силу .. За невыполнение нормы выработки каучука людям отрубали кисти рук или просто убивали . Русские войска на Кавказе поступали также при царе ?

@@vetal215 Убыхов не вырезали, а выселили по ультиматуму. Им предоставили на выбор Кубань или Турцию, они выбрали Турцию. Кроме того, сама верхушка в лице князей Аублаа и Берзеков, будучи протурецки настроенной, была готова смыться в Турцию и утащить за собой всех своих людей; она боялась потерять власть из-за отмены крепостного права в России. И надо отдать должное верхушке, хорошо нажившейся на работорговле: она смогла оплатить флот и организованно, без потерь вывезти всех людей, включая рабов. Убыхский язык уже сдавал позиции, население переходило на шапсугский черкесский язык до Кавказской войны, а после выселения верхушка приказала всем перейти на турецкий язык. Так убыхский язык и вымер; последний носитель Тевфик Эсенч умер в 1992 году. Но народ сохранился в Турции, не потеряв свою культуру.

Да вы не стыдитесь. Российская империя убила народ, переселив их в Турцию. Турки обещали им компактное проживание, не брать в армию и т.д. Но кто будет выполнять обещания беженцам. Они ассимилировались и теперь такого народа нет. Зачем назвали танец убыхским , не понятно.
