Ben Askren sits down on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show and doesn’t understand why Kamaru Usman was getting so heated at the UFC 235 press conference when Usman has a fight with Tyron Woodley to worry about. Askren also says Robbie Lawler is so nice that he almost hates to have to fight him, but expects the best version of Lawler. He still hopes to fight lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov eventually. He eventually calls welterweight Darren Till immature for his comments about him previously on Ariel’s show.

I saw Ben Askren at Lake Forest Oasis when I was working, I work for a plow company and it was cold as fuck, and he was rocking flip flops and I thought it was crazy cuz I've seen famous people but he's the only guy I asker for a picture and he didn't hesitate and he made a comment like he was surprised he was recognized. I love Ben's honesty...I was thinking of Ali right before he said it. He remains "Marty" for me from now on. BEN ASKREN is class, he's always happy and he's a bad ass fighter who I think is as good as any UFC champ period, and his trash talking is great, Ben does not look like your typical fighter but he's much more than that and he can whoop anyone imo

The problem is finding someone with similar wrestling ability on top of being a good striker lol anyone with that high level of wrestling usually only trains wrestling with a bit of striking. Lesnar. Khabib. Askren for example. Not that they are the worst strikers. But their wrestling far exceeds it. I would of liked to seen lidell and askren back in lidells prime. His ability to stay on his feet was fucking heroic. Lol
