Of course it was a fix. UFC's main goal for Diaz has always been Diaz vs McGregor 3, for that to happen they need to keep Nate on good terms. Nate appears like a badass who's willing to fight anyone, whilst in reality is actually planning to fight a past his best Tony.

Idk wtf is up with Paulo lately who seems content to never fight again and just be yet another loudmouth “personality” (even though he’s got nothing to show for his legacy as a fighter, no titles won) but I personally think Paulo is a stylistic nightmare for Khamzat due to his sheer size, strength, cardio, and ability to hold his own with grappling wrestlers (shrugged off world champion wrestler Romero)

he is a legitimate top 5 anyway you cut it but running through two guys ranked very low is very clearly different from guys like Gilbert burns and usman. When Colby walked into the arena of the Edwards + Usman fight the whole arena cheered louder than even for Edwards, Cormier right away started trashing Colby, when Jon Jones went through Gane, Rogan, Anik and the whole Arena were on their feet going nuts, meanwhile Cormier stayed sitting, even put his head down, Rogan is looking at him with an expression like asking, Dude, whats wrong with you,?at least hide your jealousy of Jones for the moment .

If you listen to nate speak on dana , they are close outside the cage , Nate shares stories of dana giving him money when he was practically a naive kid and gambiling with him . Dana doesnt do that with every fighter . Dana set up nate a nice exit combining the star power of khamzat and nate .

Ben is 100% correct. The press, led by the king of stirring shit (Ariel Helwani) was too much for the UFC. Nate was going to get murdered. They orchestrated the switch. Daniel, your argument is valid. That’s exactly what the UFC intended. But the backlash was terrible and the look was going to be terrible. They opted for the better outcome.

Covington has been AFRAID to fight Chimaev for years. Khamzat always makes weight. Something happened there. Someone didn't want Nate to get crushed on his way out.
