Possibly the most emotional performance I've ever seen from Ben. A few days after chemotherapy and feeling as bad as he's ever felt, this wonderful man was still mad keen to perform with FastLoaders and meet the fans. For some, it would turn out to be first, and last, time they would ever experience his magic.
And what magic it was! The music pours out of him and there wasn't a dry eye in the house in Camden.
We all have to be hugely grateful that he didn't just stay at home when no one would have thought badly of him for doing so.
And the people who managed to come got more than they ever thought possible: something that always happened whenever Ben was around. He turned a room into magic.
He was a Firelord, and Jack the Nipper combined. As serious as Trap and as playful as Thing, bouncing back.
We will miss him terribly.

Dang. The music of The Last Ninja changed my life and that of my close friends. We recorded it on tape even, something we never did with the other tunes of the 64. The guy was a genius.

He seems so entranced by the music when he played this... He was like a distant relative, living on another island, giving news from time to time with a concert or a new song. Always things giving me joy. I will miss him. :'(

Ben Dalglish another great British composer, along with Matt Grey, Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway, Mark Cooksey. Ben passed away in 2018, such a huge talent and sorely missed but never forgotten.

Your music was part of many childhoods past, we thank you so much, your life end too fast, while the kids were listening to your great nipper track, you tried to fill the naughtyometer like jack, your SID tunes sounds from one roof top to another, as fast a biggles fights from them tougher, you often seemed restless like a jumping mole, then I say goodby monty and good bye to you ben, I' really miss every last ninja fight, in 8-bit music your the SID-Future-Knight, as a kid I waited for every gremlin release, as an adult I can only say:“ Ben, rest in peace!“

Ben was a musician who could connect to an entire audience, no matter how far back from the stage they were. He was the Freddie Mercury of flute. Thank you for everything you amazing man.

A beautiful performance that captures his joy of performing. I played this to my Wife and Son and they very much enjoyed it. It was also nice to witness my Son listen to tracks from SID Effects Volume 2 · Tribute and watch as his head and body reacted to the music. A new fan is born!

I feel this the same way I did many years ago. The live performance only emphazises the emotions I experienced the first time I heard this in the game. The performers also show their feelings and I love it still. Thanks for the sound of my youth, Ben.

I thorougly enjoyed this - I used to play the last ninja as a kid, a LOT. I did beat the game but it took me ages. This was wonderful to listen to, but made me choke when I saw your tribute to Ben Danglish. I am typing this through tears. He made my last ninja game come alive. Thanks. Going to play again. And thankyou Ben. We both have the same name. Love ya buddy, you made my childhood fantastic.

Such a gifted Song writer. And programmer! These days it's an easy thing to get from 'idea' to production. Back then it was shaving away as much possible to fit sounds in. How He did what He did is truly amazing!!!

I met Ben Daglish in Norway 2018. He almost got a heart attack. I used a Olympus camera to photo Ben Daglish, Rob Hubbard and matt Gray on same picture with me. Daglish. WOW. A real camera....Ben said. So fucking cool. Noone uses real cameras anymore. I said to Ben. You just don't use a fucking phone camera on true legends.

I remember reading a Zzap 64! article about him in the 80s where the usual crew at the magazine got together with Ben (and I think maybe Rob Hubbard was there also not 100% sure) and they all had a good laugh, it was a joy to read. RIP C64 musical legend.

Daglish, Hubbard, and Galway to me were the pinnacle of 8-bit British music scene. Yes, I'm quite aware of guys like The Follin Brothers, Matt Gray, Fred Gray, , David Whittaker, etc., who were also great, but Daglish, Hubbard, and Galway were the ones who paved the way for those other guys
