And one of out of the 2 lead characters is Indian American named Irene. People are already talking about wanting a movie . So, I think maitreyi will be the perfect fit for Irene and the other lead is named Scottie and she’s a red-head so definitely Sadie Sink from Stranger Things should play Scottie. Perfect casting ,chemistry and vehicle for the both of them.

*CRICKITY CRACKITY MY HANDS* Can’t say I would like Ben if we met irl but I thought he did more and was good for Devi. Again this is just my thoughts on why I’m Pro-Ben so I’m hoping this would be seen as some sorta written TEDx Talk rather than a cause for a Ben vs Paxton civil war: Season One Paxton Throughout season one there are several instances of Devi trying so hard to get Paxton to like her with even more cases of him not reciprocating nor putting as much effort in return and there’s even a case of him brushing her off as well as a case of him using her for a school project. And the one time they kissed in season one was right after Devi got in trouble with her mom and he was driving her home while she was crying so it was like a pity kiss. After that is when he brushed her off because he prioritized popularity. He only tried calling her at the season one finale because his sister Rebecca made him realize how much of a tool he was being for choosing popularity over pursuing Devi so it makes me wonder if he would’ve even realized it and tried to call Devi on his own had it not been for Rebecca. Season One Ben Despite being a prick, Ben actually recognizes Devi’s intellectual and how she’s equal to or even better than him. This is further proven by how Nalini talks about how she likes Ben because he keeps Devi on her toes. Even while enemies, Ben was able to notice and be concerned for Devi when she left orchestra practice in season one since playing the harp still reminded her of Mohan’s death. Despite rejecting his attempts at kissing her during the party, Ben hasn’t held that against Devi. Ben continues to help Devi several times without expecting anything in return. Examples include when he got his parents to allow her to stay with them, when he told her to not proceed with emancipation immediately, when he talked to her about how serious it would be if she missed out on scattering Mohan’s ashes even if she was upset at her mom, him convincing Eleanor and Fabiola to talk Devi out of ditching Mohan’s ashes even if they didn’t like him and him contacting them actually helped all three become friends again, him driving her to Malibu, and him staying in case she still needed a ride home. He did all that stuff even before trying to kiss her and kept helping Devi even after being rejected. Season Two Ben Ben wasn’t so nice in this season but imagine really liking someone that you’ve been so familiar with only for them to cheat on you behind your back and chase after the other guy in trying to talk to him about it instead of you. I don’t blame him and I feel like he could’ve done worse but didn’t. In season three it was revealed that all this broke his heart so it wasn’t just his regular prick behavior it served as a cover for how much he was hurt. Even if upset towards Devi, he was still on speaking terms with her especially in trying to get her to be on good terms with Aneesa after what Devi did at the relay. Ben checked Devi and told her that she deserved better than Paxton’s treatment after Devi was rejected by Paxton when asking him out to the dance. Season Two and Three Paxton In season two, Paxton would use Devi for homework before trying it out on his own and tried using the car incident at the party as justification even though it wasn’t Devi driving that car. And Rebecca had to call him out again for him to put more effort in school on his own. When Devi was still juggling Paxton and Ben, Paxton’s behavior when hanging with Devi wasn’t presenting nor making it clear that he’s with Devi as reality clips where shown with him being friendly with her while Trent joined in so you could tell that he wasn’t as open about his relationship with her even then. Later on as he was getting good grades he sought after Devi and they would make out several times already but proceeded to ignore her presence when they’re at school. Adding more damage, he rejected her asking him to the dance in front of his friends and at first wasn’t willing to be public about their relationship because he still cared about what others thought. I don’t hold much against him in Season Three other than him thinking that the religious event the Vishwakumars were holding was fake and an excuse for Devi to avoid going to the same party as him. Even though Devi was still in the process of moving on, it doesn’t excuse him for kinda looking down on her like that. Season Three Ben I can’t defend him for how he treated Aneesa. But what I can point out is that jealous or not, Ben still looked out for Devi when he overheard Des’ mom wanting him to break up with her. And Ben didn’t fight or talk back when Devi snapped at him in response to the revelation. Knowing how it was Devi’s goal to get laid, Ben offered himself in case there really was no one else for Devi to go to. I get why some people still don’t like Ben and it’s obvious he’s got room for improvement but between Ben and Paxton, Ben put a lot of effort and looked out for Devi both in and out of romance and he did that on his own with no one to convince him stuff unlike Paxton having Rebecca and Devi call him out on his crap. Devi fought like hell in seasons one to two for Paxton only to see him wanting to hide their relationship both in season one and two, doing not as much in response to Devi’s efforts, and he also needed some convincing for that to even kick in. We’ve seen how good Devi was for Paxton but I’m not so sure if he was just as good for her. That’s part of why McEnroe narrated how much Devi has grown from offering her virginity to him like free hummus at a grocery to her standing up for herself in wanting a real relationship that isn’t concealed even if it meant leaving whatever she had with Paxton. There were several times when watching the show I was frustrated and thinking “IT SHOULD’VE BEEN BEN” whenever Paxton wasn’t being cool to Devi. Ben did so much even before liking Devi and continued even after their relationship’s end and his heartbreak. I can’t say that Ben is perfect and idk how season four will turn out but I recognize how much he’s done for Devi on several different cases ranging from grieving her dad’s death to improving her relationships with both her mom and friends to her well-being especially if she’s about to get hurt in the relationship she’s in that’s not him.
