You don't need to rely on LBW bulls with corriente cows, especially if they're 2nd or 3rd calf cows. Plenty of people throw Debrucker charolais on them, I know dudes with full framed brahmas over them to make maternal crosses, I know dudes who chunk scale-mashin' ultrablacks and brafords over them.

@@auburn696 Oh I wouldn’t want to do that to them. But I know the guys that can take a few losses usually don’t mind risking it.

@@quailjailss You aren't really doing anything to them they can't stand. If you wanted to do that for a corriente heifer I'd get it but the biggest pro of a seasoned corriente cow, the pro that balances out all of her negatives, is that she never gets sick and always gets pregnant and she'll usually bat a thousand for unassisted birth under range conditions and then turn around and throw her all into the calf and turn around and breed back on time. So there's nothing to worry about if you use a bull that isn't LBW on one especially if she's had a calf or two already. The days of the cow-killing bulls in most breeds are mostly over, those traits have been heavily selected against through the 90s and 2000s.
