Played this song at my wife's funaral yesterday. She was only 33 been married for 12 years 3 kids. We loved this song. We live in Devon and surfed the same spots as Ben Howard. Saw him live at Boardmasters last summer. Awesome.

Most of them write music because they themselves want to escape from feelings of anxiety depression... You name it. Most of them write for themselves witch is not a bad things it just show that us humans are not so different and what one person uses to go through a bad time can be used by millions of others :)

I sing my girlfriend who suffers from a severe depression to sleep every night this song. I just side right beside our bed with my guitar and I play it while looking at her eyes. The first time I saw her eyes when singing this to her I knew she was the one I loved and she just slowly drifter away calmly, something that usually would only happen if she took sleeping pills I now help her calm down her little restless heart to sleep. Thank you Ben, you saved the love of my life and me with your beautiful songs. Love from Sweden ❤️

My dad had a large playlist full of hundreds of songs on a cd he’d move it around the house to play in the kitchen and then in the car. I remember hearing all the songs and playing it on long car rides in the summer when I went to visit my aunt and watching trees and the countryside go by, watching the sun set and listening to music sometimes singing along. After my mum, my dad didn’t play this playlist once, it’s been a long time but for the first time yesterday me and my dad were going to pick something up from a shop and this was the first song I heard playing, I checked to see if it was the radio but instead he was playing his cd. I went through a very traumatic experience last year.. Then I met a guy full of red flags at my most vulnerable time I looked past them all.. I ended up being a heroin addict because of him.. Luckily only for 6 months before I asked for help and got away.. I have been clean the last 3 weeks.. I know how hard it is to beat an addiction.. Especially one that's physical as well as mental.. First heard this song around the time that the Father of my kids was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He passed within 6 months of first "sign" of illness. He died 12 weeks after diagnosis. This song is bittersweet for me...great song!

This is my childhood song and album, and it makes me so emotional. I remember listening to this every day just after my parents split up at my dads house, then we stopped listening to it for some reason. The bass guitar… I love everything about this song… one day, I’ll learn to play a musical instrument and this will be one of the songs I’ll play when I’m good at it. I love this song so much, the instrumental brings me peace. From 2:02 to 2:15 gives me the feeling I want. God bless you Ben.

I walked down the isle to this song and still have the most amazing emotions every time I hear it. It's beautiful, and real, and all the things I could hope for in a marriage song. Not typical but oh so fantastic. This will forever be our song.

I remember going through a time of grief, and how this song just seemed to fill my spirit and give me a reason to dance, when there was none. I was driving around on a lonely night, chasing a red moon. I came to an open field, and then "Only Love" came on the radio. I threw the doors open to my car and began to dance under the ruby moon...
