This game is a perfect sample of "different strokes for different folks". I read the comments and some of them thought it was a boring match. Not me. I loved every minute of it. As much as I like watching, it doesn't compare to playing it. My three favorite racquet sports in order are racquetball, pickleball and tennis. I love racquetball and pickleball because of their fast pace. Tennis, well, you can't be a "lucky" tennis player. It's purely a game of skill. As far as winning over the audience, well, why would I care if I keep winning? Besides, those who love to watch the game appreciate greatness no matter what.

Not to mention, Ben John’s Table tennis experience IMO makes him so much more difficult to play against. That flick at 25:17 reminded me so much of a well placed TT shot.

Interesting match. Rather than targeting Matt, the young guys decided to move Ben Johns from side to side hoping to draw weak shots and tire him out because of his busy schedule. At times, it worked and he looked tired. But in the long run the plan failed coz, after all, it's freaking Ben Johns!

Put it in .25 speed and pause around 18:21. I swear nearly every serve of Tyson’s is illegal

The highest part of the wrist is below the highest part of the paddle. The paddle is moving in an upward arc. The other rule is that the ball must be struck at or below the waist. The waist is not precisely defined in the rules, but it looks to me that it is in the ballpark of the waist. The ref will always give the benefit of the doubt to the server, so this is a completely legal serve.

@@jamesmartenson8203 the rule precisely mentions the naval(belly button).. so it is at or below the naval in an upward motion following the point of contact.. that being said, Tyson has more wiggle room than people think. Go ahead and do a tennis serve i don't care.. unlike tennis, you really only have one shot(unless you're playing with lets in a different league).. with this sport rapidly evolving i think we need to embrace more of the *extremes or *rare shots that seem to give non-tennis and even tennis backgrounded players more of a presence on the courts.. a presence we as humans are more than capable of adapting to.. bring back the chain-saw serve i say, and the challenge along with it.

totally agree you can't be a lucky tennis player. too much skill. Any pickleball pro can't even be to 1500 in tennis. sorry just the facts. I love to play pickleball so much fun. I like darts cornhole too.

How come at 1-2 there was a side out and Ben started from the left side? I thought they always start on right with a side out

We all get it…Ben is really good. But jeez, his game puts us all to sleep. Even Tyson looked like he wanted to just stop play and go take a nap. If I’m paying money to go see an event, watching a hyped and pumped Tyson is what’s entertainment…… but I guess it’s different strokes for different folks.

Did you see the scalpel and protractor Ben pulled out for the likes of his match winning shot? Amazing hand skills and artistry in that, just as much if not more entertaining than Tyson's bludgeoning and chest pounding.

There is a winner and loser in each match, what is entertaining is for the viewer to decide! It’s just a hot topic for those people who can’t see true nature of the game. Go watch soccer , 87 minutes, a goal!! BJohns gets point after point , TM is a great player and even better crowd player!

@@danielfros I did… and it is freakin amazing. But he’s just a hard guy to get pumped up about. I think it’s his style of play. Which is obviously what makes him so great…his patience is what all the other players lack to dominate… but the patience puts me to sleep. Lol
