Cuba in Africa and how they fought to liberate several countries is always overlooked.

I wonder how the people against Obama trying to better relations with Cuba would have felt about Nixon & China? At the end of the day, China today, while still not free, is a world away from Mao's brutal tyranny. And Nixon helped along the way as American trade made China far more interested in trade, business & money than bullshit communist ideology. Obama can do the same in Cuba. Where could Cuba be in 20 years time if money is the aim of both governments rather than persistent aggression. Sometimes, I think some in the GOP just want to continue demonizing Cuba because that's the go to mentality. Obama has more about him simply because he doesn't want to be contained by history. Why can't a US president seek better relations that can improve nations in the long term instead of morally lecturing how bad they are all. China is not good. Does that mean those in the GOP should go back to the relationship pre Nixon because history can never be broken & THAT Cuba must always be treated the same? What if Nixon had adopted that attitude to China? Would the world be better off if China continued to fail with it's economy making it a much larger North Korea? Insecure & looking to overcompensate with aggressive military actions like nuke tests? Nixon did his small bit in helping to move China into the 20th & 21st Century.. Let Obama try with Cuba.
