This is so BEAUTIFUL! You've captured Bryn's story so perfectly. I hope that the writers give us Ben and Ryn next season. I know that right now things are complicated, and Ryn still has a lot to learn about the human world and her place in it. But I can't help but want Ben and Ryn to end up together in the end. I'm here for the long game. Bryn endgame FTW!

Like you said, Ryn at the moment doesn't understand the difference between platonic love, familial love, and romantic love yet. I feel like that is something they will focus on in season 2. Maybe Helen will be the one to teach her the difference, since she will be living with her -- which is for the best really. Then she'll learn the difference. I personally think that Ryn will make the distinction then. For me Ben will = romantic love, Maddie and Helen will = familial love (as her new found sister and mother type figures).

Just watched episode 3 and I think I was right! Ryn said that when she sang to Ben after that she wanted to sing to him again. They both want it. I think they both have true feelings for each other and I think I was right!!! Im siked. "After I sing to Ben. I need it." That's what Ryn said.

Hanneybean7 this guy is unbelievably talented, I basically feel everything!! He's having so many emotions all at once : he's drawn to her like he's never felt before and also he's scared of these feelings because they might not be real but it feels soooo good and he's conflicted if he even can have these feelings since he has a girlfriend and it's not OK in general to be in love with a mermaid you know? 😂and also he feels kinda responsible for Ryn and wants to help her and protect her and that brings them even closer and again he's drawn to her all the time 💔 she's not making it any easier always touching him lmao

oh man ALL OF THIS is so on point. i think the conflict arises from him doubting the reality of his feelings. are they real or do they exist because of her supernatural draw? and there's further complications because he is such a naturally protective and caring person. i'm veeeery excited about the layers of this relationship (and maddie/ryn and the ot3 ofc) being explored in s2.
