It’s really amazing how often Lewis correctly cold calls Duncan as the traitor but it’s almost always for the wrong reason

Sponge was an absolute CALLING for Ben

The Ben Traitor Tester idea gave me 'The Thing' vibes with every one lining up and being hit one by one. The random explosion of Among Us spawning midway and the ensuing chaos is also reminiscent of that scene in the film.

Sponge should work like Shadow. Sponge need to stay within range of the target, which will still take reduced damage and part of this damage is relocated to sponge, but sponge can be killed by the target (similar to how Jester used to die to traitors). This way there will be a mind game to stay near the target, but also not reveal that you are a sponge.

I'm sure this has already been suggested, but. a jester role called Leech; they can press 'E' on other players to steal credits from them, if they steal enough credits they turn into a Parasite.

an idea for a role popped into my head so i figured i'd post it. a traitor role. on kill, they go invisible and gain a 15-25% movement speed boost for 8 seconds (kinda like a dead ringer on-kill rather than to fake your death, with no fake corpse) - however, they also can not deal any damage (like a jester) for 16 seconds. so, you can only get one kill every 16 seconds, but you gain some extra safety and potential stealth every kill. meaning if they know you're evil, or they catch you off guard after losing invis, you can't defend yourself for 8 whole seconds. the role could be "revenant" or something like that. maybe its shop items could be a mix of survivability improvement and fast single-target kill options, like dead ringers and pack-a-punches, but nothing that really 'summons' anything, and nothing that creates large area-of-effect stuff like explosions or crowd control (so no grav grenade or combine sniper, for example). basically, the role would fill a similar stealth niche to Spy in a different way, where spy can have those crazy killchain moments in exchange for being more easily called out, and revenant has the additional survivability safety net but literally can't multikill. To make a comparison, it's like the difference between two loadouts for Spy in TF2: Revenant is the kunai (or spycicle) + dead ringer w/ l'etranger, while Spy is the eternal reward (or big earner) + default watch w/ the diamondback. Not literally 1:1 in function for sure, but in terms of playstyle. One is safer and more consistent, while the other enables crazy killstreaks and chainstab setups.

Oooh, Pathfinder mentioned? Also, Western PF sounds pretty good since there's a whole actual working system for guns and stuff that's not bs.

For those wondering, Detective automatically buys the body armor at start of round thats why its always announced

For the sponge, I suggest making it so anyone in the aura can hurt each other. This makes it less powerful than if everyone needs to be in it. I also suggest making the sponge take reduced damage, has extra health, or both them and the one attacked take equal amounts of damage.

I think the sponge might be able to work as a role if it has a radius that gets nullified by 2 other players being in its radius at a time, maybe shrink the radius a bit and maybe it should be announced to everyone that there is a sponge. I think then, that might make the role somewhat playable.

Instead of an Announcer role, any blue role should be able to buy the "ability".

*Writing after Lewis explains the sponge role:* That'll be a terrible, incredibly overpowered, role. With the normal jester, you must make an effort to get in the way of the actual bullets, whereas with this sponge role, you'll only need to stand nearby. And what will happen to the person standing near the jester? Will they be able to deal damage? If they can, then their opponent won't be able to do anything, they can't deal damage to them but can still be killed. But if they can't then the fight will just stop (terrible either way). *After the demonstration with Ravs:* That is the worst role ever. The aura is massive, but it’s 'okay' if EVERYONE alive is in the circle. The aura is massive but not big enough for everyone (even 2 people). *Suggestions:* Perhaps make it so the sponge must be touching the player to take damage, or the sponge doesn’t take all the damage dealt. This will allow the players to fight but must take care, like with the normal jester. Maybe make it so the round doesn’t end and it’s like some of the other roles with secondary wins. Or, just put that role in the bin.
