We're nearly there for actually starting to put components together. This time I'm cutting stock down to width on the table saw and I realise I need a sled to put thinner pieces through the thicknesser without them tipping sideways. To do this I consulted an article in Fine Woodworker magazine. The url is here: www.finewoodworking.com/2022/....

I was reviewing your videos and projects. I found myself envious of your dust collection system. I worked in several wood working factories and wood shoppes (in deference I am wasting perfectly good letters). None of them had collection systems. Brooms before leaving was the rule. I used to receive wood trade magazines peddling new wood tools and equipment. The tools were flash versions of my sturdy basic tools. The equipment was the same. I always admired the dust systems, but I could never justify the price tag and the work space it would take up. I always figured if I married a millionairess, then I would splurge, Gaz

If I were married to a millionairess, I wouldn't have a small workshop😁. As it is, my wife doesn't want dust in the house.

Tidy does rule. I never had a work table (bench?). My dad and I both used the table saw as our flat work area. To get a bit more space we put a piece of plywood on it. Would have been smarter to rig some sort of hold down for the ply. Under the powered equipment the supporting framework was enclosed to collect sawdust or chips - helped with clean up. We considered overhead storage but decided against it.

@@MakerBoyOldBoy I'm getting there. When my wife brought out my mid-afternoon drink, she saw my mess and agreed with you whole-heartedly. I think you will approve of the status when the next episode comes out 😁

@@benelliott8745 Right. Sounds as if your Storm and Strife is a Keeper sure enough. If I had the ability I would like to hire her to straighten me out. I am now very curious as to your innovations to subvert Tidy restrictions. Up the Rebels!

@@MakerBoyOldBoy She's on a looser. I have always started out with Good intentions when it comes to tidy but Good intentions never seem to last, either in the workshop or the office, much to my wife's dispair.

Sorry Ben I’m finding it hard to watch. The background music is too loud and distracting.

I'm sorry, Paul. I thought I had corrected that from a few episodes back. I'll see about re-doing it.
