This week it's sorting out my workflow and getting down to actually working in batches. The cutting of biscuit slots worked a treat and then doubling the amount of board glue-up. Thanks for all the input you have given me with that.
I also mention an excellent "Glue up" video I found very useful. Here's the link:
• you are clamping too long

It occurred to me that you are probably the only woodworking channel to operate in a small area in relation to large floor area shoppes with equipment strategically located. Although, inconvenient this can also be a selling point. Most woodworkers are hobbyists with the same constraints. It might be that this constraint is your best selling point along with your presentation style. A crafty brightly coloured large sign/plaque (?) The Tiny Shoppe Craftsman might look good behind you. Some of the other channels already use this branding strategy. Gaz

Always learn a lot watching your channel. My desert environment of Tucson (cowboy movie industry and older celebrity retirement hideout) due to wood shrinkage of very low moisture levels preclude wood panel glue ups. We use a lot of veneered plywood and some MDF. Your viewer mentioned cauls usage which Stumpy Nubs elaborated upon (I Don't Worry About Woodworking Clamps Anymore". Your system of using a slotting cutter for biscuit alignment seems to be the most time, material, and labor efficient of the various glue up systems including the old system I use. I am pleased to use my father's ancient tools along with my newer ones. Cabinet factory production practices try to eliminate small shop traditions to make more money at the cost of quality and variety. I live in a desert city, Tucson (cowboy movie industry). The extreme low humidity causes bad wood shrinkage. We use a lot of veneered plywood, resin laminates, and MDF. This also causes a faster glue setting time. My comments are made from those limitations. Your system of edge glue set up is the most efficient of time, materials, and labor of the available systems including my old system using round pipe clamps. Your Tidy Shoppe is quite on point. Good job. Gaz

Thanks, Gaz. Yes, I guess Arizona is quite a dry place. Here, our monthly average for rain is just over 2 inches so we get quite used to timber flexing both ways. It seems, even here, that there is debate over whether to put glue on the edge only or into the biscuit slots as well. Thanks for your support.

@@benelliott8745 Debate is what keeps blokes on point. I've worked on furniture factories. Tidy shoppes more fun and no bosses. Your viewers have relationships with you. International pen pals. Good stuff. Carry On. Gaz

i would always put glue on the biscuits because they swell up and make the joint tighter but as long as your happy ben mate

Thanks, John. It seems there is debate on this one. It's nice to hear the other side of the argument.

Assuming that the long clamp jaws are steel and not cast Aluminium, you could put neodymium magnets in the back of your softwood pads in holes with super glue! Failing that, get deeper ones that slot firmly over the bar. A bit like the shape of a fat tuning fork. That will help steady them ❤

also if you dont mind me saying if you cleared the timber of back of bench you could have layed boards on bench layed clamps down and put boards on top and those long clamps you may have been able to glue up two lots at once in same clamps

Well spotted, John. You may have notice that space management isn't my best suit. Try it out this week.
