The statement made by the lady on this panel is problematic for America: "I'm pro black" and the black community won't improve until there's a shift in mindset. It should instead be: "pro American" We should be supporting all races of Americans. More unity, less division.

I taught under an excellent Learning Disabilities teacher for one full year and learned more than I ever did in 6 years of college! When I moved into teaching my own 2nd grade classroom - with 2 Special Ed children mainstreamed in - I utilized MANY of the techniques I learned from Becky and included the knowledge I obtained in my Human & Child Development/Speech Development Master's classes (and of my inner child that I STILL maintain now that I'm 71 😉). My kids always had fun and I often used homemade games and play to teach! My second graders were delighted the day I told them we weren't doing math that day, but math PUZZLES. At the end of the session they had mastered beginning algebra and continued on to write and compute algebraic fractions! Even the Spec Ed kids did this with their own more lower elementary math & a little more individualized instruction. They were so proud when the Principal posted their problems & papers in the school's glass cases! They also wrote outlines from encyclopedias and then rewrote the articles from their outlines! Second Graders! But you know the sad part? Even though my kids always scored super high on achievement tests, today I'd be fired the first week because I didn't follow the suggested (now required) methods & instructions in the teaching manuals. And I made my own worksheets & tests, and didn't teach telling time & counting money before they learned 2 digit addition & subtraction. And I had an indivualized plan in my head for every child. That doesn't work in today's classrooms. But my students still tell me that the year they were in my class was their favorite - especially my science and math classes! They're almost all very successful. I taught them how to learn & to love learning. Once a child understands those 2 things & has the basic learning building blocks to work with, the sky's the limit for each individual child! Even the Spec Ed kids will achieve higher than most expectations! 😊

My Gŕeat grandfather was raised in a family with slaves, he often spoke of times that everything on the farm was shared, he being white, worked , ate, received the same medical care as the "slaves" owned by his father, and due to the financial cost of owning slaves they often received BETTER medical care than he did. The family farm slaves were taught not only to read, write, and learn math, as this actually helped the farm grow, After the end of the civil war, all the free slaves remained on the farm and profited from it's growth. Not all slaves were subjected to the same treatment portrayed by those on large plantation.

It was hard for anyone to go to school and complete higher than 3rd to 6th grade, because they had to go out and work in the fields with their father. When the girls got to be about 13 or 14 they worked in the home. That's how it was in my family and I'm white.

There are too many administrators in the education system. Therefore we need a ratio of one administrator to 50 teachers and they also need a ratio one teacher to 10 students. Ministration can have one Head Of Administration and one secretary for every 25 administrators. ❓❓❓

This was a great stream with great guests. I enjoyed the topics discussed and the information shared by multiple people in civil discourse. I watched the entire Congressional Hearing yesterday. I had no problems with the answers that Ben Shapiro gave to questions asked directly to him. What I really found telling, however, was the questions that were asked of the other people who were testifying but not asked of Ben Shapiro. There were a lot of congressmen who wasted a lot of their five minutes by complaining about having this same hearing topic. I was actually cutting images out of a magazine for arts & crafts purposes for the entire three hour hearing. There was NOTHING good enough in that hearing to make me look up at my screen, except Ben Shapiro testifying and when he was answering questions. As for Common Core and DEI, our children were exposed to very little Common Core because of the timing of it's implementation. What they did experience, specifically Math, was so convoluted and ridiculously redundant. I actually got a phone call from my daughter's teacher because I sent her to school with a Multiplication Table on paper, laminated. The teacher told me that "We don't use Multiplication Tables anymore." So my daughter was not allowed to use it in school to help her. We did have her use it at home though. I am unaware of any DEI experiences that my children have had now that they are grown and working full-time for various types of corporations. They were in college before DEI, so that was thankfully a terrible and detrimental pedagogy that they were able to avoid.

She is irrelevant to him. She just can't move on. This anger for firing someone difficult to work with is so deaf and ridiculous. He is the real deal. The best. He debates anybody, but I'm glad thst after inviting ger to a debate, he let it go. Ignoring her emotional unhinged rant is a much better path. I was a custodian for one of the school districts here in Washington state. I was cleaning the administration office. It blew my mind how often those employees got food catered to them from pandara (very expensive) and their meetings 3 or 4 times a week they would get a smorgasbord of tacos for their meetings then after the meeting they’d throw all the extra food away. I always found brand new supplies in the classroom garbage things that were not even opened. Ive seen large garbage cans full of books to be thrown out. Notebooks of paper with a couple pages used in the garbage I mean constantly. I seen gifts from students. Like coffee cups, boxes of candy unopened, brand new t shirts in the garbage. Working coffee pots, district supplied working radios. It made me sick the waste I seen every single day and realizing this is only one school out of 131,000 of them in the United States. It’s a farce. It’s a job for these people paid by tax payers all their luxuries and waste while the kids can no longer read or write cursive handwriting while they cram common core math that makes no sense. Every day the food in the lunchroom ended in the garbage because thanks to Michelle Obama everything is wheat and tastes horrible. The employees don’t even want any of it but a less fortunate child has no lunch and they won’t just give em one even knowing it’s all going in the garbage. . It’s disgusting! I have no respect for schools anymore. Not one single bit of respect.

Look at Dr. Ben Carson's mother. She was not even high school educated but made sure her sons were. I will also say that all 80 years old are not created equal. My own mother lived to be 104. When she was 97, she was tested to drive and found to be okay for another so many years, before she needed to be tested again, but at 99 she realized that her sight limited her ability to see at night. No one had to take her license. She just said "I'm done." She did what she could as long as she knew she could. She worked her last job at age 102. 3 weeks prior to her passing she said, "Well, I can't go to church and I can't go to work, so why am I here. So she left. She passed away satisfied and peacefully. Biden is not in touch with much. The democrats don't do much more than put up puppets that do nothing to serve the people who elect them and our "home sweet home" is in a shambles, getting worse by the day.

I live in a rural community in south Georgia😊 we have built two new schools and closed down old schools within the last few years I know that our kids go to school and they try to learn new math without a book they don't have books to look at the glossary they don't know how to study they just sent him home with a photocopy paper to do if they have to do any homework and I can't help them because I don't have a book to explain how to do the new math and I have even found in the past that they were feeling a grandson that is graduated and on out working now with a piece of paper that they took off a Fulton County website of their school system and the teacher didn't even know how to do it when I went over there and was upset about because I felt that exact listen plant or sheet from the internet and I give him the answers off of it I have also a granddaughter that we took out of school she's dyslexic she was told forever that she was done by her teachers when we took her out we put her inhigh School to get her GED so that she could keep her license when she took the practice test the teacher says well I don't know why you were having such a problem yes you got a problem with reading but none of the other you score very high when she told this teacher that they made her feel like that she was less than and retarded he said well you're not you are very intelligent girl you have a lot of practical sense she is now working at the postal service after getting her GED she's passed three state test but the local school system let her think that she was stupid he would come home crying because of this because she couldn't learn the way the school or the teachers were trying to teach her she was dyslexic I have a son that is dyslexic I had to learn how to teach him even though he dropped out of school early because he could not get along because of the aggravation of being in special classes because the teachers just don't give a s*** but these schools have built two new schools three total with the high school and they don't have books to send homestudents graduate they don't know how to dress for a job fill out an application for a job how to do a resume or anything else now I learned how to do that even though I quit school and got married early I still learn how to do a resume how to dress for a job how to do a application bad people coming to where I was employed in bedroom shoes and pajamas and they would come in and say you ain't hiring are you and they wanted me to fill out a paper for the unemployment office I said well I'm not going to tell you that but you'll go home and dress like you're looking for a job you come in here and say are you hiring or can I fill out an application then I'll feel like you're unemployment paper but other than that I'm not going to feel like anything for you to get unemployment if you going to come in here dressed in your night clothes and bedroom shoes and your first question is you're not hiring are you will you feel this paper out for meI believe the school system should be put back to do the state teacher should be more involved with parents and parents should be more involved in the school system yeah they don't want them up there at the school board I went to it many times when my children were growing up in school and they didn't like to see me there they would turn the TV recording off because they didn't want it to go on TV when I was up there fussing why is my child or my grandchild having to learn about Buddhism atheism when they are Christians but there is nowhere in the lesson plan that they learn about Jesus Christ

They are producing underprepared teachers-I know this firsthand from my experience in the trenches. The reality is that education is a low-paying field, which discourages high-quality people from pursuing it. Many who are qualified are met with overcrowded classrooms. Moreover, parental involvement in education is crucial. My child attends public school, and every night he diligently completes his homework. This consistent effort makes a significant difference. While I'm dedicating my after-school hours to helping my classroom students, my child is at home meeting the expectations set for him- alone. I expect nothing less from him, and this standard of commitment should be encouraged in every household. He is not willing to risk the consequences (key word) he'll face if he screws up.

Great discussion ... Thank you Taking out the discussion the following words ---- "race" , or color , and outward features of all people , what do we have left to speak of ? What are morals , values, and ethics ? How do we acquire these attributes or characteristics ? What is inculcation ? What is acculturation ? What is assimilation ? What has happened to American families? What has happened to American marriages, American parents and American communities ? What is American? What is Humanity ? What is the definition of a race of humans or what is the human race? If we stop for a moment .., and revisit the basic questions of humanity now in this present time line , what do we see ? If we were time travelers what would we see and understand in the future ? Ask the question : Why have we not learned from the past ? Why do humans continue to reinvent the dam wheel over and over , and over again? Now these questions may seem simple, and maybe kinda foolish and have obvious answers , but is the obvious answers correct ones? Tell me ... Will the wheel continue to be reinvented in the coming future ? The wheel, as a metaphor, provides a tool for thinking about how the divided world of human thought (i.e., divided between such partial, finite categories as acting and suffering) is undivided, singular, and whole from a divine perspective. Just sayin 🙂

My dad in the UK is exactly the same, watches the CNN side and has Trump derangement syndrome…he gets very angry and aggressive over Trump, and believes that very lie. We’ve nearly fallen out over me trying to put some facts to him. He thinks I do t know what I’m taking about. It’s a serious dangerous thing when the media pushes out narratives and not the truth 🤔🤔

The literacy rate in America in 1900 was 20%. There are a lot of people in the early part of the 20th century that did not get an education beyond 4th grade. Rural boys were needed to work on the farm... black or white. Our society is not as agricultural as it was prior to the Great Depreciation. Many times parents were responsible for teaching their children. Readers teach readers. If your house is lead by a non-reader it was very likely you were a non-reader as well.

I am a MAGA woman, I am white, and I absolutely love your channel. I've been sharing your show on Facebook and with my family. I have a lot of respect that you bring people with diverse opinions together to sit down and have a real conversation. That is the only way we can all strive for truth as well as for the best solutions to our problems as a nation. I believe that our generation's Republican party (I'm 49), are somewhat more in the middle of the road, and I think Trump is too, like your guest mentioned here. That's partly why they have to push the EXTREME leftist ideology, because they want to keep people on their "team", and if they remained reasonable, people would might not be so concerned with which party they must vote for, and they might sometimes vote for a more conservative policy or politician now and then. I don't even consider these people Democrats. I started high school with my dad's, very passionate, allegiance to the Republican party (he's a VietNam veteran) in my head. But by the time I graduated I leaned democrat; this was in the 90's, and I had a wonderful teacher who was a total "hippy" in the 60's-70's, and hadn't changed much (he played Credeence and The Doors, and wore his Birkenstocks all the time, in the winter he just wore them with socks. But he welcomed my conservative ideas for conversation, which opened my eyes to the liberal side of things. But we studied the Constitution, he absolutely loved our Constitution. He focused almost our entire government class on studying what happened before they wrote it, so we could understand why they wrote it the way they did, and also focused on the Bill of Rights; he valued our freedom of speech above all..he was considered liberal then, but now I am sure our situation in this country must have him all turned around. I, myself, have been censored by FB more times than I can count at this point, and had considered myself still leaning left until Trump showed up and shined a big ass spot light on what they've been up to up there on their hill, the Democrats and the Republicans, which is essentially selling us out. It seems like our government is made up of a bunch of sociopaths and psychopaths who somehow gravitated together to form a tornado of destruction. Anyway, I ramble, but you really remind me of that teacher, and I appreciate and am very grateful for what you are doing with your podcast, so thank you. Our new Republican party has absolutely shifted greatly, thanks to Trump, and to people like you. I would love to send some $ to support you and your show, but I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my life after many years of addiction and homelessness and I am barely making it, but at least I am making it. But I will in the future! Anyway, THANK YOU for what you do, you are literally helping to save our Country!

And I will just say that I was a High School teacher and a career counselor with a Master's Degree..before the sky fell on my life. I wanted to help kids in the way I could not help myself. I was a victim of sexual assault repeatedly when I was 3. So all this sexualization and trafficking of children is by design, in my opinion. Most of Epstein's friends were Democrats..

I think people should be able to say whatever they want (besides encouraging violence). We need to quit trying to stop "misinformation " or what we called lying when i was growing up, and focus on teaching people to not be gullible and believe everything they hear. I believe we are trying to burn this candle from the wrong end.

I remember being told that just having the correct answer isn’t enough. You must show how you got there but it had to be the way they told us. I was good in Math. I often understood the question and gave the answer from my head but It didn’t count because I couldn’t explain the process.

I'm 40+ and I do "common core" addition in my head. No one ever told me to do it but when doing math in my head it's just simple. The -1 + 2 left over is just simple. If for your thing 22+19 that's just 20+20 +1. It's super simple and easy to do when working with better number sets the 22+19 thing is just a strange way to do it buf something like 23043 +19092 makes it easier to work with 3 number sets that are easier to do in your head.

Carmen core is a list of skills that need to be learned. No one tells any teacher how to teach that skill from the federal government. They are told how to teach the skills based on their teacher text books. The teacher textbooks come from either California, or Texas.if your teacher textbooks are from California, you need to talk to your school board none of this has anything to do with common core.

@@Niniof5 no…I worked in the public school system for 22 years. I know their flaws. Common core doesn’t tell you HOW to teach. It tells you WHAT to teach and WHEN. Teachers on almost EVERY grade level were teaching about volcanoes just so they could have a fun lesson. Now only certain grade levels do those lessons and other grade levels teach according to the list. Prior to Common Core I could ask a question about 3rd grade level math and each teacher would have a different answer about if and when they taught it! Some were teaching difficult math strategies before the pre-requisite skills had been taught. Our district used the Texas Curriculum, so we didn’t have any woke crap.

When folks ask what comes next after the abolishing of DoEd here's the answer: 1. School houses were a thing. So folks quit acting like there were states and time zones between educational centers. Now the size or number of schools were dependent on the size and income of the community they were in. So me money (ie more affluent areas) had more and/or better schools. *looks around* How did the Dept of Ed change that? 2. Imagine the sudden surplus of money that could be applied to our infrastructure. Meaning even smaller communities can and will benefit from lower federal taxes or at least start seeing where their money is going. 3. Put everything back to the states and the local communities, where it belongs. If you eliminate the DoEd then the teachers unions lose *a lot* of power. They no longer have a sugar "uncle" they can demand stupid things from. As... River(?) Said it, let's go back to the mentality of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" There are very few sweeping changes made by our gov that made things better. Almost uniformly they screw things up, and more so than it was before.

Common core helps solves problem multiple ways, not just one way. Like driving through a city, your road is blocked, you still have multiple ways to get to your Destination. You're applying it to real world, that's why Asians in Asia excel at common cores and math, cause that is what we are taught. That lady doesn't fully understand the real cause. Kids in Asia can do fraction at 5, it's just harder to implement in America , because teachers and majority parents aren't familiar.

Well 8th grade education was very common in the past. At one point they gave that 8th grade test to college students and they could not pass it. They would quit school get married go to work start their life. Now they fixed it so they can’t get married till 18. Can’t go to work till 16. Have to go to school even though they don’t learn anything after probably 8th grade. It’s a waste of time. So the kids have nothing better to do but get into trouble. It’s all stupid.
