chris klein what you’re saying doesn’t make sense, Taylor isn’t necessarily suggesting that she’s a victim in general - I’m sure she’d accept the notion that she’s relatively privileged. The point is that she’s been subjected to sexist treatment by the media as well as her management which is unfair. She isn’t even necessarily doing this for her own benefit as opposed to that of budding female musicians so to discount her concerns about a certain issue because she’s hugely wealthy and successful is intellectually lazy.

The point Ben is making is that Taylor’s insane success undercuts the entire point she’s making. If women are discriminated against as much as she claims, how is she so wildly successful? You can make the argument she did it in spite of sexism, but that’s just speculation, and isn’t backed by the facts. The gender wage gap is almost non-existent when you control the variables. Women are given preferential hires in many prestigious professions in the name of diversity. Workplace discrimination against women is heavily cracked down on. Women still reap the benefits of chivalry while having all the power of men. Western women are the most privileged group of people in the history of this planet. Stop making excuses.

well we know that its not for her........ but not every man gets his own company or is the boss in general, the way she showed that everyone around her in her office showed respect, hell if a woman is the boss then people would do the same but not many women are entrepreneurs right? she shows a man can smoke in a subway, well the women around him are judging him the same way men would if they see a women being disrespectful of someone's personal space, the way she showed that a man spreads his legs is over the top, no one sits like that especially around women, men do spread their legs more because they have something in between them. The way she showed women just lying on the yatch, it rather proves a point that women can do anything for money, same goes for the marriage between and old guy and young girl, no one forced her but he is shown as rich. A man peeing on a wall is bad and he will be arrested if police are around but who stopped you? the man is also being judged for that, you will be judged as well. If a selection is to be made between a good looking man and a good looking woman for a leader, the feminists (which are 99% of women) will obviously vote for the woman just because she is a woman, it doesnt matter if she is capable or not, she will always have feminist's votes. Men will primarily make a decision based on capabilities but if its close then they will vote for the woman as they like seeing her. In life, a woman who isn't good looking and complains bout her struggles for being a woman are actually the struggles of a man i.e. only your talent matters (she would still be backed up by women though)

Sorry to tell you, but there are lots of guys who make simple/basic sounding music about all the same things she does. Some of them are quite popular. Any of tyem would be quite popular if someone decided to invest momey into marketing them. Search "Justin Bieber," "Sam Hunt," or "Bruno Mars" if you don't believe me. He has a point, none of them are as famous as she is, but saying she'd be homeless is an obvious exaggeration that weakens his point.

But, if Justin was a few inches taller, and a few lean pounds heavier, and made songs like m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rLBnpst-xszRe4k.html m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jNqEhcaIvbmmp5c.html m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZryeeNt20Mm2mYk.html Instead of m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZtZxnqyjr8zbkaM.html m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bqt8lbtmqLPTnXk.html And m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/irODfLVjlpbRgps.html that would make him a better looking man singing catchier songs in a more commanding voice. He'd have more fans, make more money, deal with record labels from a position of greater power etc. I'm not saying T-Swift would do better as a man than she already has as a tastefully sculpted trans woman, just that she'd probably do better than Justin Bieber has. As long as she still got the same music lessons, same people promoting her to the mainstream market, etc, she would still be able to make a name for herself as a man.
@deltab9768
@deltab9768 4 жыл бұрын
All that being said, her point still doesn't stand up. She might still be famous if she remained a man, but there's NO WAY she'd go further or get there quicker. And she'd still be experiencing the frustrating parts of being a big entertainer. There's a ton of songs by everyone from Credence Clearwater Revival to Chris Stapleton to Mike Posner, to... you name it, they've all had times where being rich and famous didn't seem so fun. All the things Swift says people have judged her for are things they judge men in her position for too. It has nothing to do with sexism or transphobia.

Men were the ones forced to go to war, and their life expectancy is much lower than women's because the jobs that they take are much more dangerous than the general population of women. I have studied sociology and I am now studying gender roles in society, and let me tell you this whole "men have it soo much better" is absolute bs, at least in first world countries. It's hypocritical and one-sided since it purposefully leaves out the disadvantages men have as well as the advantages women have (crazy right😃). But then hear the complaints when the free trips stop as they ruined their looks by constantly partying, skipping sleep & doing substance while not eating well and not training. And not getting any skills from training or school. Its a one-sided "career" that only goes downhill. I think force of gravity is an oppressive bigot. You see that in adult entertainment industry girl will ruin themselves within their first 6 months to a year. not every man gets his own company or is the boss in general, the way she showed that everyone around her in her office showed respect, hell if a woman is the boss then people would do the same but not many women are entrepreneurs right? she shows a man can smoke in a subway, well the women around him are judging him the same way men would if they see a women being disrespectful of someone's personal space, the way she showed that a man spreads his legs is over the top, no one sits like that especially around women, men do spread their legs more because they have something in between them.

Actually, in the recent years there's been a huge rise in women wanting to transition into men, although that's mostly happening at a younger age and seems to be a cultural phenomenon more-so than actual gender dysphoria. I think people wanting to become male are in the majority by now, London reported an increase of 4000% of young girls wanting to transition over just a few years from what I've read, although all the years before it seemed that gender dysphoria was a psychological issue that affected far more men than women. So you're technically correct, I still wanted to point this out though for anyone who cares enough to read it.

@@lizardpoo8524 Taylor is leaps and bounds more privileged than Ben Shapiro. I'm literally a fan and have been since 2006 and I went to Red Tour in 2013 literally not quite 2 months after a kidney transplant, but he's got points and fans should be able to recognize that. It's not discrediting your fanship to acknowledge these hypocrisies and fabrications. Taylor can be very, very smart and contribute to national politics in a much more non-divisive way, but she's following the typical celebrity cliche of having very overt and dismissive views about anyone who doesn't politically align with her, and that is profoundly disappointing when you've grown up with her building an association of her being the kind of person you could be best friends with. The Man is shallow and it lacks self-awareness, and if it had the same production but was actually not forcing a narrative would be a phenomenal pop song, but being progressively political narrows its audience to whom it's receptive to, thus why we didn't see much coming from the Lover era like any other era before. The reality is, in the current musical landscape, if she was a man she wouldn't be nearly as far as she is as an international superstar. That said, The Man is only 1 of 18 songs on Lover, and most of those songs still display her talent (albeit I have considered her pop music to be a stop down lyrically), so I'm not thrilled with him downplaying her talent entirely just because of politics. In fact in terms of a really good political message, Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince is amazing and ambiguous enough as it mostly discusses disillusionment with politics and not necessarily "my way or the highway." Dismissing that is equally annoying. And Ben should REALLY re-assess her supposed "lower quality" music and listen to folklore and evermore without the innate political bias. She's definitely got her groove back with those albums and put the emphasis back on storytelling and lyrics rather than chart performance as a goal.

You have a delusional twisted view of men. Do you actually believe this video describes the life of most men? Also maybe the reason you're not taken srsly is because you complain about microagressions. Good bosses, man or woman, are tough as rocks, and dont complain about microagressions. And unfortunately it's getting to where they can't just not advertise their wokeness anymore. Some have been called out for not being outspoken enough. I expect Leo will do whatever he has to and keep his status. We all know these people don't really believe the climate narrative, given the way they use resources, buy beachfront property etc., and it probably costs him nothing to lip service women's general oppression claims. Other than that, I doubt he puts up with attitude challenged girl friends, maybe even has a vetting system of some kind, and a pre-arranged back door excuse to break up with them at a seasoned point in the relationship.

@CallaLily it's their business who would they sell it to. Big Artists don't really own their labels most of the time. People would listen to the songs, watch her videos and still know that its her songs. The only thing she won't get is the profits from it, which is why she's crying about it. Think from every perspective, not just what she says. When she was 13 and big machine signed her, she must have been grateful to them at that time and bm did everything to spread her name in the household which was definitely not easy.

The song is about her wondering if she was treated like her male counterparts would it have been easier for her to get where she is now, would she still own her work, would she gain as much criticism as she does, would people question whether she writes her own music and would people praise her for working hard rather than making comments like ‘omg she has a boyfriend? Try saying you feel attacked by modern activists, artists, and politicians for being male (not to mention teachers if you’re a student). Try saying your views on abortion come from a genuine concern for the unborn and not some inborn desire dominate women. Try saying you disagree with modern feminism and it’s not because you hate or fear women. The words and experiences of women, at least in regards to politics and the media, are treated as the word of God. Any male experience that doesn’t match with feminist theory is just ignorance or an outright lie.

But if Justin Bieber were a couple inches taller, a few lean pounds heavier, could maybe run a bit faster, and made the same whiny breakup songs and cheesy love songs he does now but with more emotion and less meaningless filler lyrics, then he'd be a prettier person, singing better songs to more people, who'd like him more than they do now. Yeah, If She were a man, she'd do better than Justin Bieber, but not as good as she's doing now. Ben has a point. There are thousands of guys and girls who could write and play pop music just as well as her, some are even girls who are as beautiful as her, but none, are as successful. Her and Justin wouldn't be making a living doing this, if they hadn't had millions invested into promoting their music. She's very lucky to be where she is now, and should be happy about that, not resentful.
