You played that pretty well dude. I like your chord progressions on it.

You make it sing, nice work.

yes more than likely but you may have to adjust the truss rod because of the increase in tension from the strings so you don't bow the neck
@BassWithBenjamin11 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The neck felt very comfortable. It felt at home and yes just like most Ibanez basses. I don't own any 7 strings at all, this was my 2nd time ever playing a 7 string.

They are both really excellent basses. I might be biased since I'm an Ibanez artist. But I wouldn't play an instrument if I didn't believe in it or if I thought it sucked. I think the decision to use the Nordstrand pickups in the higher end basses is a big plus!

Hey Ben, 1st you sound Grreat on the that 7 string BTB. I didn't even know they made 7 string until a month ago. i was in guitar center playing a 5 Ibanez and i look up and said a 7???? Naw! play and was amazed and the tone, feel and look. I will agree with Jethaniel. It does remind me of the Ken smith. Because the only to company i new who did 7 piece woods were Ken & Michael Tobias his earlier basses. So i purchased thee 7. its in Layaway. Ill be getting it out soon.

Hey there Ben, I had the opportunity to play it at namm too. I play a Ken Smith 6 string. I don't compare any Basses with a Ken Smith. But this Bass the way that it feels, I questioned and compared and I will be looking into purchasing one. YOU CAN FIND MY ALBUM ON CDBABY, ITUNES, AMAZON....Artist: Thanny and Tracyne titles Lver's Duet

Hi Jethaniel. Ken Smith are very nice basses! I've played on a couple and have been very impressed by them. Growing up in New Zealand, we didn't have boutique instruments like Ken Smith so I was never around them at all. But we did have Ibanez and so I've been playing them for 16 years now. Let me know if you end up buying the 7 string BTB!!

It sounded pretty good for that. You could get a nice Hi Fi sound for that!

Zoltan, the pickups are stock Ibanez specially designed for this bass. Cheers.

Fantastic playing! I have some questions. Is the neck thin, like most Ibanez basses? How about the neck/fretboard width? Does it seem like 7-strings squeezed into a 6-string bass neck? Not too many 7-string bass production instruments out there. You seem extremely comfortable with the 7 strings, so I'm assuming you already own one (or some.) I'm wondering if you tried the Conklin GTBD-7? I own one and was wondering if the 2 instruments are comparable.

I think that the pickups of the BTB 7 are similar with the ones from Grooveline G106. If this is the case, knowing that the Grooveline G106 is a premium instrument, I believe that the BTB 7 has to be close to the pro level...
@respiromedia11 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The neck is wider than a BTB 676 or 776 neck, right? In your opinion, the BTB 7 is a professional or only a mid-level instrument?

Love my 5 string ATK tone, but don't like the tone of my Warrior 7 string as much. Do you think the tone of this bass could get more spank than a typical multi-string bass?
@respiromedia11 жыл бұрын
Ben, what can you tell us about the pickups of BTB 7? They are Bartolini or Nordstrand? Thank you!

could you slap a low F# on the bottom of this and get rid of the higher string?

I believe so. Ibanez basses can be very edgy and agressive which is what I like.

Hi Ben, did you slap on the bass? I'm between the ibanez btb 676 and this one, and i wanna if it was easy to slap on it? Thanks.

Well it's not in their premium line but I'd say it's between a mid and pro level instrument. I'd still play the hell out of it!!
