it took me a lot of courage to finally open up and say this. i stopped listening to Leaves right after my cousin died. This was his favorite song and he would insist that I should listen to this weeks before he died (he died from an accident). Whenever I hear leaves or it plays on my phone, i literally would skip and play the next song because I could hear him play and sing along. Today, just like the first time, I'm listening to it again. It was never easy after all I was the only person in the family who witnessed everything in the hospital room. It was tragic. He left without goodbye. It's been a year already since he passed away and I could still remember every moments we had. First time ko umattend ng ganong music fest na dapat hindi matutuloy kase nagkaroon kami ng financial constraints, family problem, loaded school works in short nadepress ako. I am working student and I've been carrying so much pain para lang macontinue ang pag-aaral at pagtatatrabaho. So that I won't be a burden to my loved ones. Going back to their performance, unang line pa lang I got goosebumps. Then tumingin lang ako sa taas at pumikit hanggang sa tumutulo na lang yung luha ko. Naaalala ko nung panahong sobrang dami ng problema ko pinaparinggan at sinasaulo ko to para sa Fest and simultaneously crying kase ambigat na talaga. Naniniwala ako na I will be alright in time. The thing about forgiveness is people tend to assume that it equates to being back in each other's lives. People tend to question your ability to forgive base on how tolerant you are in allowing that person to be a part of your life again. I remember when I had a depression, I pray to God to take all my pain away while listening to this song kasi I feel like I couldn't make it, and I have no one to lean on, I don't have someone who can listen, but I do understand somehow, because we all have our own problems to deal, even though I understood, there is still a part of me that wants someone to lean on, no matter what I do, I have nothing but myself.
