Benches Clear Phillies Rockies as Harper Won't Put Up With Bird; Phills Manager Strike Zone Ejection

It was a wild one on Sunday between the Phillies and the Rockies in Colorado. During the 6th inning Schwarber would take a high strike that leads to Manager Rob Thomson getting ejected. The following inning, Jake Bird would come in to relieve Rockies Kyle Freeland and Bird doesn't have great command. He will end up talking shit to the Phillies dugout after walking off the mound during his half of the inning and the benches would clear.

Yeah but relying on technology isn’t any good either. What if it goes down in the middle of the game and they have to postpone the game to another day? Even worse, if your team had the momentum in a close game and then come back later to blow it because all moment was lost at that point. Imagine that happening in a playoff series?! 😮 or what if it started missing calls because of malfunction with sensors?! Then everyone would really be saying games were rigged. It would do more harm than good in my opinion. Can’t ever rely on technology if we still can’t get cell phone service right in 2024

Good to see Paul Byrd back in the game though after some good years with the Braves.

I was watching the Wild Thing Edition of Major League the other day. Byrd was one of the players interviewed for one of the extra features. It was nice to see him. Always liked him

Really? Phillies club started in 1883 and didn't win a title until 1980. That's 97 years. Also, the Philly didn't see a playoff game for 26 years from 1950-1976. I'd hold off on the smiley faces😮😮

Hope he got all of his chest-beating out back in May, when they were only seven games under .500. Because now he's on a team that's 39 games under .500 and on a pace to lose over 100 games. But at least he'll be able to watch the Phillies play in the postseason.😆
