I bought the house from the guy that designed that knife and sold the patent to bench made William McHenry. I was walking off to find a couple prototypes that he was working on hidden in the barn.

Get a Dirac Delta if you’re gonna get something like this. Same price and far superior.

The Dirac Delta would be my choice over this blade but I don't think this is a bad blade for the cost.

Mine came with a loose screw that fell out of the handle as soon as I took it out of the box. $428.00. I still haven't received the replacement screw package from Benchmade yet. Terrible customer service.

I was excited when these came out. Got it and was kinda like ehh should have got a ultratech. We'll got a ultratech and gotta say the claymore is the better knife

I'll be the dissenter here. I think it's an okay price for this OTF. It has 3.8 inch blade of CPM-D2, which is an improved D2. To get a dagger bladed OTF of similar blade length from Microtech you're going to pay at least one hundred dollars more. Incidentally, "Front Towards Enemy" is what is actually written, or embossed, on actual Claymore Antipersonnel Mine.

The Kershaw Livewire is far better. Guardian tacticals are far better. There’s many better brands for less. Yes, Microtech is more and I’m not a big fan of their company but their knives are absolutely higher quality than BM.

The biggest issue is how flimsy the blade is and how thin the blade stock is.

Benchmade just can’t compete at all these days, or chooses not to even. One of the lowest ‘value’ brands I can think of. Glorified plastic for exorbitant prices.

I have the benchmade ranger green non-serrated version that I received as a gift. It does have a plastic feel to it. For some reason the D2 steel bothers me at this price point ($360). With that being said; I have enjoyed it. I have carried it. I have no issue deploying it, but have let other people use it and they had difficulty engaging it. My honest opinion is … I think there’s probably a better OTF out there for the money. American and foreign made. Mine was a gift, so I will not sell it for that reason.

It's CPM-D2. This is a superior version of D2.

@@SES5925the CPM D2 Is leaps and bounds above regular D2. They went with this steel because it’s tougher than many of their other steels and this is a DUTY series of knife for military and law enforcement. For the price you get amazing warranty and great materials. The grivory is super tough
