Bend Oregon! In this video, we give you some ideas of things to do in Bend Oregon. But it also begs the question if this smaller town is even worth the visit.
Bend Oregon is a beautiful town located in central Oregon, but recently it has become quite busy and I couldn't imagine living in Bend Oregon. We do really love Bend OR for all of the outdoor activities and downtown Bend Oregon. But its a very busy small town. Some of the best things to do in Bend Oregon are exploring Bends downtown, hiking Tumalo Falls, floating the Deschutes River, mountain biking Phil's trail system in Bend Oregon, and exploring Drake Park.

My impression of Bend is there are too many corporate chain stores along hwy 97. That really surprised me. It was also bigger than I thought and the traffic can be intense.

Great video. My wife and I moved to Bend 2 years ago. I walked under that fallen tree on the Tumalo trail multiple times last year. And, yes, the name takes some getting used to, my wife corrected me a number of times when we first moved. Think Tums, like the antacid. Tumalo.

I moved to Bend 40 years ago when it was affordable. I'm an Oregon native from Silverton but prefer the climate and recreational opportunities of the east side. Now you need to be wealthy to live here.

I'm now in Orange County CA and the one thing I absolutely loved about living in oregon. Was how the environment blankets you and people who've never lived there before. We'll find out immediately the beauty of natural environment

It's odd how the heavy influx of money and people over a 10-15-25 year period can change a town or city in any state, not just Bend, Oregon.

Expanding on that I would say that it rings true(massive growth in population and money in a concentrated geographic area) especially on the east coast and west coast. Especially.

We owned a house right across from the Grove until recently. It was great, but the last straw for me was the forest service destroying literally the entire west side of Phil's with clearing/AKA clear cutting. At some point they will certainly be moving the forest boundary to make room for more stupid single fam homes for douches from CA to buy :) But it's a great town if you are on the west side of it. The east side is basically any other American city.

Passed through Bend on my way to the coast few years back, Yeah that's to bad, not all people are considerate & clean, (trashing out places) I have seen, kids screaming, yeah not for me at all, to many people period, but just my opinion, but you 3 are awesome, thanks for sharing, also just a idea, but John Day Fossil beds is pretty cool

I’m currently in CO. It’s too crowded here. No joke. Accessing nature and mountain roads is not easy nor without crowds. How does Bend compare? Denver, Boulder, and Springs are all overpopulated now.

The only problem with Bend is it’s in Oregon. Durango is nice but silverton, bayville, and telluride are less crowded and still nice.

San Diego is just for looks, because the City itself, just like LA, is pretty dangerous and dirty. Bend is 100x better

I lived there for ten years. (I was one of the first roof top tent people with a giant Land Cruiser lol) people were confused about its purpose. Moved away a few years ago. It’s an awesome place but it’s become too “cool” for me and I miss the culture and diversity of a city. Bend is also three hours from anything else. The food truck scene is hot and there’s always a festival , but as a local they get old and clog up the town with traffic. The recreational areas are getting over crowded and it’s fairly transient, disconnected group of adventurous people who never stick around long. It’s become a refuge for Bay Area folks who cashed in and wanted a change of pace, or a place to justify their sprinter van purchase. The sad reality is the skyrocketing real estate prices and rents which has driven out a lot of the working class and service based community. It’s hopeless to own there unless you’re fairly wealthy or have a strong income. I refuse to give up on CA so that’s where I moved back home to after being away for 20 years. The winters in bend are LONG as well and I’m pretty much over long winters these days.

25 years ago it wasnt popular and even 15 years ago it was great and California's peoplle need to learn how to merge also bachelor can take all the tourists. expensive yes becouse all the increase of demand its pushing all the ogs of bend out and its lost a lot of great people. Trafic is horrible and no one knows how to use roundabouts. People drive 10 mph under and if there is a fender bender than people will stop to look .if you dont know how to drive in snow dont come here in winter .there are so man hipsters and yuppies here and its very trendy ive lived here for 25 years and have had all my children here at st. Charles all 5 of them and we are all moving away i owen my house and yeah its nice that ill sell for a lot but it was really nice that when i was in my 20s i could rent a 3 bedroom apartment for 500 bucks .
