CBS6 Virginia This Morning - The Doctor Is In: Dr. Mark Flanzenbaum talks with Jessica Noll about the benefits of taking your child to a pediatric urgent care when they are sick or injured. At KidMed, our providers are pediatric trained and are able to recognize symptoms and injuries in children that appear differently than in adults. The KidMed team can then make a diagnosis and treatment that is appropriate for a child. KidMed takes the scary out of a doctor or urgent care visit. KidMed takes the time to make kids comfortable, listen to parents and caregivers, answer their questions, and educate them on treatment and follow-up.

The Doctor Is In and you have questions. Today I'm joined by Dr. Mark Flanzenbaum, co-founder and managing partner at KidMed. Mark, talk us through the benefit, if you would, of going to Pediatric Urgent Care when your child is sick or injured. One of the advantages is that our entire staff, including our providers, are pediatric experts. And there are an awful lot of illnesses and injuries in kids that don't present anything like they do in adults, and being able to recognize the difference, and being able to make a better diagnosis, better treatment plan based on recognizing that difference makes all the difference in the world with kids. Plus, our job is to make it a non-scary environment. We always say we take the scary out of the visit for the parents and the kids: getting on the floor with them, playing with them, that helps an awful lot. You don't get that at adult-type facilities. So we take a lot of pride in that, and that reflects in the positive feedback that we get from parents.
