Watched the interior video first and that blew me away, such a magnificent ship. This video brought it home the decibel level was lower than most home dishwashers. And you have as the engineer said instant power to your engines with the diesel/electric motors. Absolutely amazing ship, well done Benetti

Usually these online tours end up in the engineering section of the vessel, if the engine room is toured at all, but this tour was exclusive to the engineering capabilities of the yacht! Bravo Benetti, and thank you, Boat Show!

This is a FANTASTIC vessel! I would have LOVED to see more of it, with a Ship this size you would have to have a series of reviews to cover all the details and relaxing/living aboard her, including the crew.

Such a wonderful yacht with the best interior I have seen yet. Also a bit nicer to the enviroment... not that yachts are good but trying to be better is something to applaud

I have to say, at least in my opinion, the best looking Benetti yacht is the custom job they did for Philip Green with the yacht Lionheart. Philip might be a dodgy person certainly......but his yacht is beautiful haha!!

Very interesting. Why 6 generators and not, say, 2 diesel turbines instead? Too complicated for load balancing? Or too expensive to maintain?

Typically it's about what's available from your supplier. For a given amount of money and power output, there's often only one off-the-shelf solution that's going to make sense. And then there's redundancy : I'd feel more comfortable knowing that I can lose five generators before I'm out of power, instead of just one.

I work in sustainability and the trend in my sector (datacenters) towards lower carbon footprint is driven by customers of Apple and others, yacht charter will probably follow suit with the clients (or their children) demanding lower carbon emissions for their charters. ps I designed and built a (much smaller!) boat with this propulsion system 12 years ago!

6:54 All 6 of them? I think such scenario very unlikely to occur, only in case of collision and flooding in generator room. But you'll still will have an emergency generator on sun deck.

err, just wondering, i think yacht andromeda ex ulysses and her slightly bigger sistership are diesel electric as well and their gt is bigger thatn FB272?

106 m Andromeda has similar gross tonnage, around 6.000 gt, Ulisses yes is 10 meters bigger than Andromeda and higher volume at 116 meters but Luminosity is way more fuel efficient, it can power the whole appliances on board for 12h just on the 36 ton battery bank, maneuver whitout emissions around protected marine life areas with the engines turned off

Luminosity is, by any measure, a curious yacht. Delivered to her owner in 2020, she is up for sale *already*... not unheard-of at this point in the market, but unusual. Boat International doesn't quote a price, but she's listed between the 95-metre Lurssen Madsummer (229 million Euros) and the 95.2-metre Lurssen Kismet (169 million Euros), making her the 4th most expensive yacht on their books (the most expensive being Octopus). With the possible exception of "Elements", the 80-metre Yachtley build, launched in 2018, Luminosity is the only megayacht in the top 20 listed whose lines seem jarring and out of place. Maybe it is the white-painted separators between the huge panes of glass, maybe it is the box-like structure, maybe it's something else... but she just looks ugly. Certainly a technical marvel, but not exactly easy on the eye. Somehow I don't think that she will fetch her asking price.

Yes, that exterior view, i call it 'shopping mall on sea'. It get points for the high ceilings and there are occasional moments of interior excellence, but for the most part the interiors veer towards the tasteless.

@@dleetr And if you look at other similar yachts up for sale - Madsummer, Kismet, Valerie and Ace from Lurssen, Sunrays from Oceanco, Secret from A&R and Plvs Vltra from Amels, all of them use curves to soften the lines. Plvs Vltra is a good comparison - take a look at her pics in the sales listing at Boat International - because she has the same large, squared-off stateroom windows on the main deck and lower deck. Yet on the Amels the corners are softened slight, while on Luminosity they go in to hard right-angles, lending to the cubist vibe. It's like the designer was trying to channel Picasso from his cubist period. The other yachts I list here can settle in to a landscape and look peaceful in a bay or marina... Luminosity has more of a jarring effect. But who am I to say? I couldn't afford 100,000 for a yacht, never mind 100,000.

Do they finally now show deck under heli? Nice flat supposed to be under? What more.. Tall yacht take some wind too ?..Wander specs of that landing craft hidden. Just beach buggy or much more?. Also needs to buy beach-lander, like castoldi's with that froward ladder too Serenella maginificant art.. Maine USA they make roof rise limo’s. but orig Venetian is V. Old men harder to get in and out of tenders at the beach, marina etc. Is heliplatform maxsize for a like ach 135 at the top to accept? on a 110m yacht. The Bow not mentioned heli possibilities. Well yacht supportboat with proper sertyf. Helideck /ACH 175 or 92-Sikorsky. AW and Bell have nice bird's too. This would we Ideal "hotell" stanby ready at private bay as a fortress and have 88 Florida Riva chaser for weekend excursions and large H- bird-s for taxi people back and f, Some Wajer's , Axopars and Boech water ski,,,,

Lots of green terms and hyperbole thrown around here but to what end? Other than balancing hotel loads and not waking the guests for short journeys or maneurvering where is the advantage. Using generators to transfer energy storage from fossil fuel to batteries (inefficiencies in conversion?). With no green generation you’re still filling up 400,000 litre diesel tanks. Smoke and mirrors.

In Italian it's pronounced JIGA. G before "i" and "e" is pronounced like a J (jay). In front of "a", "o" and "u" it is a normal G like in English. Cheers
