Just freaking amazing. I've never heard a mandolin sound like that. The chick on the 5 string bass.....man. She is getting NASTY on that thing! That turns into some serious FUNK! If they came to Texas, I'd be all over their concert! I can hear where the Doors got some of their sound from. Especially the track "The End". Sometimes youtube makes a good choice. This was AMAZING!

I have listened this Jugalbandi many times. I say this 20 minutes of mesmerizing music. If I started it, my wife knows that, now I will be hypnotized by the magic of these 5 magicians, for the next 20 minutes. But I say them Gods. Gods of music have come down to earth, for a 20 minute concert, and now I will be so involved, that even if Yamraj comes at that time, I will ask him to stay for the next 20 minutes.🙏🙏🙏

Remembering those days when i went to a radio inauguration show in Al Nasr Leisure land in Dubai and got vvip seats cause i know a singer personally who was performing for the show. And they let me into the backstage and i was so damn lucky to meet balachetan and speak to him. At that moment, Stephan Devassi chetan was performing on stage and benny dayal was there with us backstage. Back then in 2009, balachetan had long hair. Ah, those memories are still fresh even 10years later too. Our BIGGEST loss. Hope you're jamming with the angels up there Balachetaa. Love you Balabhaskar.

@@JonHeckendorf : The one, who left for heavenly abode is his brother U. Srinivas a very popular mandolin player. This gentleman is U.Rajesh, who is somewhat less popular when compared with his brother. This man is very much alive.

At 18 minutes and 20 seconds U Sreenivas ends the ‘MELAM’ returning to the starting notes of Keerthanam; crowd cheers, he bows to them graciously and responds to Balabhaskar, who smiles appreciatively, then turns to Mohini Dey, who normally goes about her business with an imperturbable demeanour, and teases her using the strings of his beloved companion to which she responds with a big smile, Balabhasakar, and the men on percussion (Drums and Ghatam) join the party, transcending the spectators to cloud nine.

Maestros all-Mandolin U Rajesh-Mandolin, Bala Bhaskar-Violin, Arun Kumar on drums, Giridhar Udupa on Ghatam & Mohini Dey on Bass,- unfair to pick on an individual when they all have contributed to creating this sublime music-they ALL deserve the credit!
