I just wanted to give a huge shout out to the Domestic Team at Port Benidorm Hotel, who keep the communal areas and bedrooms meticulously clean - they’re also incredibly diligent with us as blind and visually impaired guests and they always go out their way to make sure we’re comfortable. As well as leaving tips and feedback, honestly I think one of the more appreciated things is learning their names, and learning the language, to be able to greet them when you see them and to be able to thank them for the amazing work they do 💞

Hi Ana , I’m a cleaner in uk and know how hard a job it can be being a chamber maid , I appreciate the domestic workers they are the most important and most overlooked workers in resorts I always leave a great tip I’ve even seen me make an older worker a cup tea and made her sit for a while when she was struggling with the heat .

I really appreciate the cleaners I always leave a good tip when I am leaving the hotel. I bet the people who put these adverts in the papers have never done this work in their lives.

We have about 20 euro per hour in Norway and that’s the starting salary. Perhaps with the exchange now, it’s about 3,000 a month before taxes. I work as a manager in a cleaning department in a 3 star hotel. It’s one of the heaviest and hardest job in a hotel. What more in a scorching hot of Spain in the summer? 😔

I always leave a tip, all my coins and usually some notes

The cleaning staff are the most unappreciated and underpaid by there Bosses but not by the majority of Holiday makers. They go above and behond to ensure the rooms are clean and comfortable which goes a long way to your holiday enjoyment. I never fail to ensure I budget to leave well earned generous tips for them. Well done Ana for highlighting this problem.
