i don't think so. The slausons, gladiators etc. disbanded and turned black panthers I believe (not quite sure though) . And the Avenues came out in the end of the panther era. Monson tells stories of him accompanying Bunchy Carter to meetings with Ron Karenga etc. So the Panthers were already out, and on their way out when the avenues formed

They just moved to California and took on their new environment with a strong mindset that they been had. A lot of these dudes had already had a poverty criminal type mindset in the South like robbing stores and fighting other young guys, but moved to a city where it was heavily gang infested so they had to adapt because gangs weren’t in Southern states and cities until the mid-late 80s. The South has always had a criminal element and cities like Los Angeles Chicago Detroit was flooded with people who were from those states. Most of these folks came from poverty and that’s all they knew. The only thing that changed when these dudes came to L.A was gangs, palm trees, and a different climate.

Good video , but I'm curious where are you getting the info his uncle is a medal of honor recipient? There's no record of anyone by that name awarded a MOH in the Vietnam war. That's a very rare award, the highest of awards given out. Only given out for the most courageous acts during combat. So it's a big deal. Just curious where you got that info?

@@KevMacVideos Not trying to call you out specifically, as I know you most likely have good intentions. But it's something people do not take lightly at all. Most people who earned the medal of honor never live to see the award. As it normally involves sacrificing your self in battle for the sake of your comrades. I know you have good intentions, but as a journalist fact checking is a must. Especially when you're talking about something of that magnitude.
