Halloween Theme Epic Cover Version

A Cover Version of the classic Halloween Theme composed by John Carpenter. An arrangement the brings in the old sound with the new. Starts off familiar but becomes more orchestral. Was believed to be the leak from the new film but it is not the official theme.

A youtuber named HalexD is claiming it's the actual 2018 theme. It annoying as it's getting much more publicity than the person (you) who actually made it.

Thanks The Fandom Cantina ! It’s only ever been a non official cover version. The user ‘The Shape Lurks’ (formerly HalexD) reposted it and tried to pass it off as a leak. Please post again there!

I love coming back to listen to this. It's a great recreation of a classic theme. The last film really made me fall in love with the franchise.

BennieMusic someone posted the audio on SoundCloud and then it started circulating some movie/horror news sites. There’s a page on here called Halexd that reuploaded. You can find it by searching “Halloween 2018 theme.”

I don't usually comment but I was compelled to... I knew it wasn't authentic but I had to track the original artist down (I only now got my Act together) This track is incredible! You managed to capture the essence of the theme from the first films that nearly no one else has managed to do...I love the epic closer as well!! I would love an extended all piano version done in the same vibe.. Its so similar yet entirely different.. As a writer.. It oddly pumps me up lol

Awesome job. I'm very curious as to how you were able to recreate the ticking. It sounds so much like the original and sets the tone for the whole piece.

Mike Skees thanks so much, happy to hear you enjoyed it! To me that was the most important part and probably took the most amount of developing. The key was in the pitch, it’s a tone higher than the tonic note to start. Then it was shaped out of melodic instruments and percussion instruments until it felt close to the original for me! It sounds simple but it’s about 4 instruments and two chorus effects.
