I worked for a concert promoter in Buffalo, NY, and worked a club show for Benny at a club called the “ Inferno”. He knew my boss because they were the same age and had played the club circuits together in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and all places in between. He was the nicest man. I was 19 a college intern. It had to be 1985. I remember he was so much different than other artists. He was mature and made sure he introduced himself to everyone. I remember he had his hair pulled back in a ponytail before the show and literally was “ bent” that everyone got a T shirt in their size. Thank you for taking the time to meet a pee on intern, Mr. Mardones. Thank you for serving our country and giving us the gift of your music. Rest In Peace 🇺🇸❤️

I am saddened to hear of Benny's death but I am happy that he no longer suffers. I pray he knew the Lord and he is with his heavenly Father now. RIP in peace Benny. Thank you for your exceptional talent. The CD "Stand by Your Man" showed how truly talented Benny was with his vocals. Beautiful songs that are timeless. 😥

We need to get benny in the Rock and Roll hall of fame !! His live performance of into the night alone justifies him to be there .
