I don't know if anyone noticed, but Benson Amps put a buffer bypass in the Temperature Controlled Germanium Fuzz.

So does a single switch bypass all three, or are they separate switches? Cool example of what makes Benson awesome. A little something for the purists and a little something for the non's. Sweet tones as always, Ryan!

one switch bypasses all three. i moved the impedance control in case it got missed, but that doesn’t do anything in bypass.

That’s sweet that they put a buffer switch inside so there isn’t a limitations to where you can put it like other fuzzes. Really like the sounds and comparison of the two fuzzes

Great vid. You can def hear the difference on the breakup of the transient. Little harder sounding when bypassed. Not as much of that soft compression going on. Super helpful vid for making a purchase, thank you!

There’s definitely a difference, probably most noticeable for studio situations. Love the jam as always, but do miss it being at the beginning. That’s so fun when it’s at the beginning to set the tone and build excitement! Awesome content and a stellar jam!✌️😌🎸

I've made the impedance corrector before, its 1/2 a $4 transformer a cap a resistor and a pot, I could stack everything in front of my Wooly Mammoth. Didnt think to put in a buffer tho, that's more than clever, keep all the hf the impedance corrector veils (wasnt thinking about that w/the WM) My fav thing about this is its character cleaning up with the guitar volume, gorgeous. Great on a trebly Strat

There's quite an obvious difference with the bypass engaged. Great sounds both ways. The bypass sound is a little wilder, but also thicker. Without the bypass, the fuzz is more refined and there's greater inner clarity. It would be interesting to see how close it's possible to get to that thicker, bypassed sound without engaging the bypass. If that can't be done, I'd rather see the bypass defeat as an external switch. The difference in tone is definitely worth having, but as it stands to make the most of the options you really need two pedals.

TBH, as much as I loved the Pre, the initial Ge release lacked all the qualities that make Ge superior.I've found the pickup sim thing generally a deal breaker, while fully recognizing the complications of traditional Ge circuits. Thing is, live, in a mix - with a little verb or delay,- all those qualities you covet in practice just get washed away, - like tears,- in the rain.
