Для меня пепси всегда имел более мягкий вкус, чем кола и этим легко отличался. Но в любом случае всё это гадость. Уже несколько лет как отказался от этих напитков и после перерыва мне тяжело выпить даже полстакана.

Actually coke is designed to drink warm. Pepsi is designed to drink cold. Thry do taste pretty much the same aside from a slightly different mouth feel. Most people don't understand it because they are brainwashed by brand... but honestly they all taste like the same synthetic garbage if you don't actually care about the brand. Someone who only drinks water could easily tell you as much when they taste them because they don't have a bias and their taste buds haven't been wrecked by the caffinated chemicals.

I have no issue at all telling the difference between Coke and Pepsi. Dr Pepper and Diet Coke have their own flavors, too. I have no idea how they couldn't tell the difference.

It sounds like they don’t drink soda much. It’s harder tell the difference if you don’t have much experience with them. That’s the only explanation I can come up with.

It's like they've never drank any of these drinks before as they all have distinctive tastes, especially Dr. Pepper, MTN Dew and Diet Coke. After that, it's between Coke and Pepsi, which is pretty easy as well as Pepsi is sweeter whole Coke had more bite. At the very least, they should have gotten 3 correct.
