Bentgo Kids Lunch Box: BEFORE YOU BUY - Some Issues You Need To Consider!

It has a fun and stylish design, with 5 practical compartments that are portioned perfectly for a child's appetite to encourage a healthy and balanced meal. It also features leak-proof technology to keep meals and snacks fresh and mess-free during transport, and has a drop-proof design with durable, rubber-coated edges that are slip and slide proof.
However, there are a couple of issues to consider with the Bentgo Kids lunch box. First, it's quite heavy for small children to carry around on their own. The sturdy design may be great for protecting the lunch box when dropped, but it also means it's not as lightweight as some other options on the market. Additionally, while the compartment tray is microwave and dishwasher safe, it's recommended to hand wash the outer shell to preserve the leak-proof seal and extend the lifespan of the product.
Overall, the Bentgo Kids lunch box is a great option for packing lunches for children, but it may not be the best choice if you're looking for something lightweight or easy to clean.

Honestly I fine this to a be a good sized for the kindergarten. My kid is in kindergarten and has no issues with this box. The idea behind this box is everything is already open so you wouldn’t send the fruit cup or the granola bar without opening it/draining it first. If you aren’t sure they would eat it then put it on the side. The little circle we use for dips or a small treat.

It's very popular indeed, but for us didn't really work for a 5 year old, it's just heavy even without the food. But it's a great option for some people, I like bringing both the pros and cons to my reviews. Thanks for commenting!

@@shopperssidekickHoney you can’t bring the views the pros/cons if you’re using the Bento box wrong. But a lunch box carrier that she can hold, and don’t put in school bag if the bag is that heavy.

The little compartment is not meant for grabbing, it’s meant to be for dipping. Ranch, ketchup, caramel, Nutella…

You’re supposed to put in the packed things already opened/poured into the lunchbox itself. That’s the whole point of the Bentgo. The round part is great for dips and nuts. Also, lunch boxes are not meant to go in the same compartment as your child’s school supplies. That is a big mess waiting to happen. You need a lunch bag no matter what lunchbox you get. I get that the Bentgo can’t be for everyone, but it kinda sounds like you’re using it wrong.

Thanks for your reply. I did see many kids go to school with a separate lunch bag and I feel for them... So cumbersome. One backpack should be enough for everything. Also if you split it, there's still the weight issue, it's heavy regardless. And regarding the poured into the compartment - I wouldn't pour a jello into it (yikes), and it does make sense to pour from a larger container but not when it's individually wrapped already - so much wasted packaging. Anyway, I'm well aware this box is great for many kids and parents, but for me it was a let down and I wanted to share my take of it. Hope you keep enjoying yours!

I think it's meant for you to put the fruit in one spot without the original packaging. And younger kids do better with sandwiches cut up into smaller kids. It's less useful as kids get older and don't need sandwiches cut up or don't need help opening a prepackaged fruit cup. The little round compartment is for dip.

I don't really understand these?? 🤔 When I was in school..I took "cloth" like lunch bag or those "Characters" hard plastic lunch pails..with the thermos. Also, I was lucky if I could "assemble" a Lunchables-pizza, for example. One more thing: I don't not really have the "moter skills"👐 👋 to "assemble" food for lunch..eg. things like 🌮 tacos, wraps..or sushi 🍥 I have CP..whatever happened, to taking a material lunch bag to school or work?? I'm 47 yrs old, with a disability..& don't think this is something I can manage..but, they look interesting..-I don't think it's for me 😮

Oh, I also wanted to add: I know you can add many things to eat..but, I'm not and have never been a sandwich 🥪 person..
