Ha! Love that I had to watch an instructional video on how to assemble my new 20 gauge Beretta Silver Pigeon I from a woman on KZfaq. Your husband is a lucky man! My wife laughs at how non mechanical I am when I try to assemble a new weapon or clean one I’ve had for years. You are correct that gun needs some oil and breaking in. I’ve shot a lot of these Silver Pigeon 1’s at quail and they are a wonderful shotgun. Thanks for the help I smashed the like button.

Beautiful shotgun. I shoot my 686 SP1 at our local Trap range. My first time ever shooting Trap, I scored a 17 / 25 thanks to it. It points very well and swings naturally.

I love that gun. Bought myself the Silver Pigeon 1 20 GA 28" barrels for my birthday last spring and have been carrying it pheasant hunting all fall, you are really going to like it!!!

🔴🔴🔴I’m very interested in getting this same gun. Actually held it today at local shop and it felt good. Just wondering your long term satisfaction and reliability on it so far. Thank you. If you push the clips in the middle ,like it tells you to , wont dump it in the lid because the clips move without binding or clicking and go down, meaning the case is the right way up.

Use grease on hinges to reduce stiffness ! Works on every new gun and would increase life time of your gun ! Maintaining the buttery smooth working

What kind of grease do you recommend, I just purchased the same shotgun.

@@Freshofftheboatt lithium bearing Grease or maybe food grade silicon grease, if you get bearing grease, you'll be looking for red cour grease as its high temperature and high resistance and excellent against corossion... On the other hand food grade grease is of aluminium or silicon base non toxic to hands so its a bit expensive, it could be of white or off white colour which helps you to know if the grease is dirty and needs replacement... It has good temperature and resistance against corossion too.. After shooting u can use wd-40 for inside of the barrels cleaning, as Wd-40 has plastic and lead inhibitors which make your day easy to clean or You can Search " Ed's Red gun cleaning liquid'' on youtube to make at home an excellent inside barrel cleaning solution... Remember, Wd40 can damage plastic parts for example, your gun Bead colour.... Also Ed's Red has acetone which eats plastic too .. literally any petroleum liquid damages plastic so u can use a tape on your barrel while cleaning or look out for petroleum products while cleaning... After cleaning inside, make sure you lube inside too with oil such as atf or motor oil as described below For lubing outer barrels bluing, i use Shell Motor oil 10w40 fully synthetic oil as it has good rust inhibitors and doesn't smell as much as Automatic transmission fluid ATF... I suggest you to use synthetic oil as mineral oil tends to dry out but synthetic oil stays literally forever... If you want to spend that extra buck use BALLISTOL for all purposes... REMEMBER OIL AND GREASE ARE CHEAPER BUT GUNS ARE NOT... USE ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF BOTH... Hope Have a great shooting ahead...

@@Freshofftheboatt 👆👆👆 this is my advice after 1 year of searching for perfect gun lubing techniques... Because i live in india and all of the gun care products aren't available in my country so i have to use alternative but still more affective products..

Im in the market for a 686. Is this the Field model? Will you be using this for Clays or Hunting? From my limited research the Sporting model doesn't automatically reset the safety once you break open the barrel. Great looking over/under! - I hope to acquire one shortly.

rdeeeezy this is the field model. It will be primarily shot in the field! Ours does automatically flip back to safe!

BlueBell22 we use both break open and semi-auto guns to hunt with!

...congratulations on your new gun, I'm sure you can't wait to shoot it ..just a question about the sling swivel that came with the gun and mounts to the bottom barrel of the gun...are you going to do that...???...it looks like you have to drill into the center rib of the gun...

Frozendawg thanks! No I don’t plan to add the sling swivel.. I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to Beretta though!

@@StandingStoneKennels ...thanks so much for your response...I have reached out to Beretta and actually saw the swivel on their site about a month ago and considered purchasing it for my 686 Onyx but it's no longer on their site and no customer service rep. seems to know anything about it ....I might have to buy the Silver Pigeon I to get it...lol...since you have decided not to use it and if you don't want to keep it I would consider purchasing from you, if not that's ok too, I have a loop sling on my gun now but it inhibits the view of my target somewhat ( my excuse for missing)...anyway let me know your decision...thanks for your time...

Congrats on baby and shotgun but i must say that you should be more careful when puting it together........you are hurting it...........and of course clean it first.
