Nice instructions, clear and concise. The whole stock on my a400 extreme plus was randomly loose, I had to take the stock apart and tighten that 13mm bolt holding the stock on. One little correction though, once you take the butt pad off those 5 screws are t10 torx and not t8.

I bought an A-400 which was set for a left hand shooter. Swapping the shim and spacer to right hand set-up was a breeze, but when I mounted the gun it still had the bead off to the left of the rib. But the next day when I mounted the gun the bead was right smack in the centre of the rib. The stock had obviously developed a "memory" biased to the left hand set-up and it took about 15 hours for the stock to reform to the new bias. Just thought I would throw this in in case anyone did it and thought they had done it wrongly. Thanks for the instructional videos Erik.

at the 3:40 mark. The guys says put the plastic black shim facing (SX for lefty, and it's Dx for righty) you on the stock. I believe this to be incorrect. It should be placing the shim on the back of the receiver facing you which would be opposite of what he is doing by placing it on the stock. He is not doing it as the manual states.

WARNING! At time 3:42 / 9:38, He says you want to have the C60 SX facing you at the top as he places the plastic shim onto the Stock. THAT IS AN INCORRECT STATEMENT. SX (Left-Hand) and DX (Right-Hand) plastic shims are positioned on the rear of the receiver, so the marking is visible toward the shooter! At that point, the desired shim marking will be facing you! When the metal spacer is placed into the hollow of the Stock, that will also be facing the rear of the shotgun. Both Shim and Spacer face the shooter or the butt end of the gun. If you don't believe me, use a caliper to measure the shim. When looking at the DX side of the shim, the left side of the shim is thicker, causing 'Cast-Off' (rightward cant) for the right-hand shooter. Conversely, when looking at the SX side of the shim, the right side of the shim is thicker, causing the Stock to 'Cast-On' (Leftward cant) for the left-hand shooter!

Good comment. I followed the video then dived into the comments to see why I had cast off for left hander!! Another comment elsewhere says imagine you mounted your gun and your stock were transparent, you would be reading the numbers on the back of the receiver facing you. Only part that could be confusing, and they made it confusing!!

I appreciate the video but you completely ignore the most challenging phase of cast/drop adjustment in this category of Beretta SA’s. On every unit from the 391 to the A400 replacing the washer and self locking nut is a hilariously haphazard and unmentioned exercise. Add in the Kick-Off assembly as an obstacle and the placing of the metal shim plus the self-locking nut is a ridiculous time wasting exercise. Beretta or Cole should market a deep well socket perhaps manufactured even from plastic of sufficient length, close tolerance and look-through design to allow first-attempt placement of the nut.

Instructions on mounting the front (plastic) shim seem contrary to the instructions provided with gun; instruction booklet say's the shims, plastic and metal, must be in the same orientation, it reads that the shim should be placed over the stock bolt so that the correct measurements are visible at the top (ie with the shim against the action) - in the video the guy is shown placing the plastic shim on the stock itself not over the stock bolt which suggests it's the wrong way around in the video. Strongly suggest that owners double check with a Beretta agent and/or refer to the provided detailed instruction book before following the video.
