Funny that I found this today. Yesterday ,I just recorded James Gangs' 2 record vinyl record set "16 Greatest Hits" onto a 90 minute Maxell cassette. Yes I still use cassettes and have a collection of 450 cassettes of classic rock artists. My 1993 Toyota Corrolla has a cassette player too. YaDig??? Well that's just it; being able to shred arpeggios and play a thousand notes per second isn't so much the measure of a "good" guitar player but a lack of confidence. Being "good" is all about sounding good.

@@Smoothways correct. JW doesn’t give a crap what he says or what mumbling ramblings he goes off on after he does a decent interview or decent play on the guitar. I watched that video and liked it until he had to ruin it by saying something so freaking dumb and classless especially in front of Les Paul. He couldn’t keep that thought in his head? Joe is one of the most generous & conciousness people on the planet. Like here, sharing lead with the other guitarist. I saw him in concert in the early mid 70's. He brought out 2 black dudes to sing background on a couple tunes & when finished, they both walked off stage in darkness. Joe quickly signaled to hit them with a light, then gave prop man a thumbs-up. That's stuck with me all these many years.

People like Les Paul, Chet Atkins, Chuck Berry all the old blues guys & guys like that were more than just great guitar pickers, they were entertainers that HAD to learn how to work a crowd out of necessity in their early days! it's an art form that unfortunately is almost extinct nowadays
