Hello, everyone! I'm Berkay Uğur. My series titled "İzmir Ghettos" continues from where it left off. In this video, I went to the infamous Tinplate Neighborhood in Tepecik, said to be one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in İzmir. Tepecik is known for having the largest Roma population in Turkey. I've wanted to visit there for a long time. Tinplate was undoubtedly the most challenging neighborhood I've filmed in for the series. As soon as I entered the neighborhood, I was mistaken for an undercover cop. Someone approached me, asking if I wanted drugs. Later, I was threatened by an individual on the street, demanding money forcefully. At one point, I got lost in the streets. However, I also met wonderful people here. They took care of me, helped me navigate through the neighborhood. I witnessed live performances by musicians here. I strolled through the narrow streets of the ghettos, which was amazing! So, what's the reality according to my observations? Is the Tinplate, the Roma neighborhood in İzmir, truly one of the most dangerous neighborhoods, or are the stories just legends? In this video, you will find answers to all of these. Roaming around there and vlogging was a fantastic experience for me. I hope you share the same feelings. Enjoy the video!
