Looove the talk on childhood. I grew up with divorced parents that never made me feel safe as they constantly talked bad about each other in front of us children and because my mom was very anxious which constantly put me in an anxious state (even small things such as her being really really cautious with my health to this day gave me the feeling of not being safe in my own body). Even though it's often with good intent, these little things reaaaally influence children when they're older. So for me making them feel safe and not being afraid of life is my goal 🥰

But, at the same time, you don't want to raise reckless daredevils, so how do you strike a good balance? How do you raise kids who don't have a panic attack if they run out of hand sanitizer, but who also don't go dirt biking in a forest?
@luciex5066

@@amberspecter it's difficult to strike the balance for sure, and i think it's normal to worry about your kids. In my case I constantly had to text where I was, wasn't allowed to go to a lot of places, was constantly called which gave me and my siblings the feeling that we aren't safe anywhere - there's a constant state of danger all around us. We were also super responsible children, so there wasn't that much to worry about. I can just talk from my own experience that the portrayal of a lack of safety all around me led to me being way more anxious as I got older. I wasn't an anxious child to begin with :) That's why I would give my children a little more freedom and trust so they have the opportunity to discover themselves. That doesn't mean that they can do whatever they want 😅

I relate soooo much to that, the part about not feeling safe, my parents literally fled their country and I took the permanent anxious feeling over. It's basically the main thing I work on in therapy, to re-establish a basic feeling of safety :') I have the same goal as you!

I love your attitude toward the support system concept. I have a strong one, and until recently, I didn't realize how many people in modern society lack it and how it's being neglected amidst the booming individualism. I think this is a very important point. Love listening to your thoughts!

Xenia in regards to your last video: Grace Beverley just uploaded a „how to set up for a successful 2024“. I think she also has ADHD, her system works quite well for me. When I set goals I use the SMART method (spezifisch, messbar, attraktiv, realistisch, messbar) in order to have realistic goals. And as soon as i write my goals down, e.g. „I want to work out three times a week for at least 30min“ I reduce them in my correction round because i tend to overestimate myself. My goal would then be „I move my body two times a week for at least 25min“. However, I'm not a big goal setter as my biggest successes have come unplaned. I last years I had 2-3 small goals, but they're not that difficult to achieve, however they aimed to improve my life a lottttt (one of them was to find a therapist)

I LOVEEEEE HER!! And your tip is SOOOOO GOOD, it is so smart (literally) because one of my main things is that I always overestimate myself too lol! And I love what you said that the biggest successes have come unplanned. You are wise :) I wish you all the best!

How do you invest in friendships and make new ones? I have my sister and bf but sometimes have trouble taking initiative to reach out and connect when I am not seeing friends often
@xeniaadonts

honestly its really not so easy, especially when you grow older. But from experience I can say, that it's something that you can't force and it happens in a serendipitous way. You can attract more serendipity by putting yourself more out there, visiting new cities, hanging out with different types of people etc!
