Berlin is a large city, yet you can still see a lot of the city's landmarks in a single day. This is a recommended itinerary:
Brandenburg Gate: Begin your day at this well-known Berlin landmark. It is especially stunning in the morning and a must-see for all travellers.
Reichstag Building: The German Parliament's headquarters are located next to the Brandenburg Gate. Even though you might not have time for an interior visit, the building is striking from the exterior, particularly the glass dome.
Holocaust Memorial: Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe This moving memorial, which is only a short stroll from the Brandenburg Gate, is made up of 2,711 concrete slabs that are organised in a grid pattern. It serves as an effective Holocaust memorial.
Checkpoint Charlie: An important historical site, this was once the boundary between East and West Berlin. Even though it's very touristy, it's worthwhile to go to understand about the city's split past.
Visit the Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Strasse to see a preserved section of the wall, an outdoor exhibit, and a visitor centre that explains the wall's history and the effects it had on Berlin.
