+philzambo Bernie sings the song 'Outlaw' while in Whitesnake, which is on side 2 of the 'Lovehunter' lp. All in all a very good record indeed, Bernies take at lead vocals is actually one of the highlights, for me, of not only that album but the entire Marsden/Moody era of Whitesnake.

Man ? I had no idea that Bernie Marsden had such a good voice. And I have owned practically all of the early Whitesnake Albums. And have liked his backround vocals. And I have heard John Sykes sing his version of this song. And of course I have David Coverdales various versions on tape and video. But I honestly think that I like this version here the best of all of them.

It’s a shame I didn’t know Bernie Marsden in White Snake. I learned of White Snake when John Sykes was the guitarist at the time. When I heard of Bernie’s passing and the mention of White Snake, I looked him up and Wow. What a guy. Such great talent, as a guitarist and vocalist. I have a new favorite guitarist/singer on my list. I wish I had known of him years back. R.I.P. Bernie. I will certainly be listening to as much of your performances I can find. 🙏

Brilliant! A radically different reading of a familiar tune, yet even on first listen (as this is for me), it stands on its own perfectly fine. And rather poignant to see Jon Lord. Sadly, we never really had the opportunity to see as much as him as he had to offer... And Bernie Marsden; great job.
