problem is if they try to stretch Doakes suspicion on Dexter for more than 2 season, it would make Doakes not that of an imposing figure. not much true suspense and will become repetitive cat & mouse chase

My favourite scene in the whole series, "lab geek my ass" Doakes confirmed that Dexter is even a better fighter than himself, more impressed than surprised proving that hes not crazy at all, Dexter is not who he pretends to be and likely a very dangerous man indeed. In this scene even when Doakes loses a quick toss of hands he wins by confirming hes been right all along.

Dexter always nice and polite and the answers he always gets is ''shut the fuck up motherfucker, psycho, weirdo'' its funny as hell. backround music could not be better 😅 p.s. the ending is so fitting. 😂

Remember Doakes knew Dexter was a killer since season 1. He had him figured and it took every police officer in the show multiple seasons.

Not really, it is natural to dislike the antagonist of our main character who's point of view we follow and the show is named after, the fact that his victims are all evil nasty scum helps as well, if the show was named Doakes and we followed doakes and his suspicions from the get go we would hate and be suspicious of dexter.

My unpopular oppinion I hate doakes with passion and it's because I am kinda like Dexter without the whole psycho. in the sense of keeping to myselt and can be sociable when I want. My God I hate confrontations and people who won't let me be, basically doakes is the embodiment of my worst fears and everything I hate. If I had to work with someone like that I would probably transfer or quit and if I was a psycho like Dexter he would not have made it past episode 2.

haha Im sure the writers meant for people to hate Doakes. But he was the perfect antagonist for Dexter. While Dexter is secretive, manipulative, mild mannered, Doakes was the complete opposite; overly aggressive, straight to the point, very in-your-face... It made for some good chemistry and comedic moments between the two lol
