Hey, bros! Just a comment on the beherit/behelit matter: Beherit is the Syriac word Satan. ベヘリット (beheritto) is the original name in Japanese, wherein the letters "R" and "L" are interchangeable. All the best and happy new year!!!

So I just wanted to add something here. I'm like 99% sure you can't just hand someone your behelit and then poof its theirs. Pretty sure every single one is destined for a single person. And no matter where you leave it, where you lost it, or who you give it too. When its time, the behelit will be there for them to use at their lowest point of despair.

Right. It's not that the previous owners of the behelits transferred it to Griffith, the count, etc. They were already destined to get the behelits, and the ones they got it from were just carriers.

Interesting theory and I could imagine Griffith actually thinking he could play the world like a chess set, Godhand included. But, the beauty will lie in how Guts would react to whatever Griffith throws his way. Guts has always been Griffith's uncontrollable chess piece. Even if Griffith does everything mentioned, Guts will probably find a way to defy him, still. Man vs god. fish vs river.

Griffith's Crimson Behelit wasn't transferred to him, it was always going to end up with him, the old woman that gave it to him was just fated to be there to hand it over. And the stone itself doesn't have much power, it is just a key that grants the fated wielded an audience with the Godhand. Unlike the mark of sacrifice, behelits do not attract dark energy or apostles. Which is why so many of them are just casually hanging around until that fated moment is meant to occur. What's interesting is that sometimes, especially for important events, there seems to be a special moment (usually recognized in hindsight) where the acquisition is meant to happen, and other times it is just random. For example the Egg of the Perfect World received his behelit just when he was about to be crushed by the weight of the decaying bodies being thrown on him. It just showed up there. Griffith's crimson behelit got a special moment where it was given to him, but when it it was time to be activated at the eclipse it just showed up out of nowhere. So you could say it violates causality in some ways, but then it *is* causality in a larger sense. They are kind of like the ultimate grandfather paradox, in that the universe (or Idea of Evil) just sets it up in a way where it gets people and things to be where they need to be, to ensure the fated path of events happens. Sometimes it pretty logic ways, but then in other it just creates shortcuts. I think that is why the apostles after their ascension pretty much get to do whatever they want, and the Godhand don't really bother them, because when the times comes they will do what needs to done regardless of their desire to do it. Like chess pieces on a board.

@@Vile69666 I don’t think that’s the case. For the story to work, much like the Count, it genuinely needed to be Griffith’s choice. I think when we saw the old woman during the eclipse it was just Ubik showing him the memory.

It's not random, it waits until the very last moment that's also the most intense point of desperation etc. Right?
@jcf2322
@jcf2322 Жыл бұрын
@@ezeqeel8352 Yeah. there's nothing random about it. It all seems to happen at the most traumatic moment in a person's life. The Godhand visited Griffith while he was imprisoned and told him that their formal meeting would happen soon. The crimson behelit is a bit weird in that it must coincide with an eclipse, which are cosmological events that happen independently of what takes places on the Earth itself. So it's difficult to say it was "waiting", the eclipse had to happen when it did, and Griffith had to be in a state to make that choice. Did casualty structure events in such a way to him in the state where he would. I dunno. Suppose the original Band of the Hawk did not rescue him before the eclipse, would he still have sacrificed them, if he wasn't given that huge emotional jolt? I dunno. I think it was important to the story to show in the story of the Count that beyond creating that moment, the meeting of the Godhand, it does seem to be a rare moment of true free will for the holder, as the count chose not to sacrifice his daughter, and as a result was dragged into the abyss.

The problem with your theory is in the manga I've only ever seen that the behelit's end up where they're destined to be, at the exact moment they're needed. But the Slug count does offer the more feasible idea that any betchy can be used by anyone, and it's dark magic inevitably leads the bearer down a dark road by influencing them and others close by. I like this idea that "causality" isn't Fate, it merely masquerades as inevitable, and anyone who refused to sacrifice simply ended up dead or irrelevant/insane so to all outside observer's it seems that they must not have been destined to use it it's like saying everything dies, you can't disprove it because you would have to die in order to refute it if you came back to life well then you're not dead yet.

what? whos to say that the giving over of a behelit isnt part of causality itself? I do not believe that it would 'transfer owner ship'. like it says quite literally in the manga, is the person who is holding onto it the intended user, or are they just holding onto it unless it slips from their possession and finds its way to the person who it is meant for

You can't "transfer ownership" of a behelit. Every single one is destined for just one person. That's the whole point with Guts's behelit where they keep wondering if the behelit is his (as is if it was "assigned" to be his) or if its destined to be someone else's and he's just holding on to it. No transferring ownership there.

I don't think Griffith wants to torture Casca, at least directly, as that would be too simple. I'm certain he plans to weaponize her multifaceted feelings towards himself -- devotional, romantic, parental (as disgusting as it is), forcing her to face an impossible choice between the two. By doing so, Griffith wants to make it seem like he's literally everything to her, while Guts doesn't matter and never mattered in the first place. Which is has a full potential to destroy Guts emotionally.

@@dumbfoundedkiryu9468 That is true. But I'm glad she is finally processing those feelings and fighting back, it means she's recovering. Still, knowing that Griffith is a master manipulator, I'm sure he'll find a way to twist it in the most heartbreaking way possible, to target Guts specifically. Sooo, were at chapter 371, Guts is in actual despair, he is going over memories of his sword after it failed him, something you could call an essential part of him his whole life (conceptually, because I know Dragonslayer was made well into his adulthood). A vortex has appeared right by the ship pulling it down just before cutting to Griffith. There's a panel of Guts sinking naked into an abyss, very similar to a certain panel of Griffith during the Eclipse... Although now he knows he has no chance of defeating the godhand. I'm sure there will be intense temptation to sacrifice this dependence on the sword/his strength somehow. Guts cares about his friends, but there's a sense of distance and they're not a chore part of his identity, so I don't think they would even be eligible sacrifices. I think Guts will be severely tempted to make a sacrifice of some sort to become strong enough to defeat the Godhand and rescue Casca. Do I think he'll do it? Not at all. But it will be a huge turning point in the story.

In my dumbed down head cannon fantasy, if Guts ever uses the behelit, his sacrifice would be the beast of darkness, aka his true inner self. Yes the most care he shows is for casca but it’s his true inner self that he clings to. His entire life he’s clung to the sword fueled by that darkness inside of him, which has kept him alive, it is the one thing be ultimately relies upon. If upon activation he could not chose Casca as a sacrifice even if he wanted to, one since she’s already marked, and also the casca he is in love with is long gone, even after the fantasia arc. The only thing Guts has to sacrifice is what truly has been his reason to live, and that’s the dark fighting spirit within him. And who knows, if that’s how it is then maybe a “happy” ending is plausible, Guts relinquishing his beast and a chance to live in peace, maybe even with casca eventually. But this is berserk, Guts and happy endings don’t seem to go together.

Yet I do agree that it is very unlikely that it belongs to guts, he is already a sacrifice himself destiny does not apply to him and that’s how they work, it might be for someone very close to him tho,like serpico maybe who could very well find himself in a deep emotional state if anything happens to his half sister.

I'm surprised Guts couldn't scratch Griffith with the DragonSlayer. He wounded Slan with it. Griffith may be the strongest of the God Hand. The strongest apostles are Grunbeld, Zodd, Locus, Irvine and Rakshas. Skull Knight is a level below God Hand as he has been deflected by Griffth/Femto & Void. Skull Knight is on even terms with Zodd, they frequently fight to a draw. Guts can kill many apostles without Berserk Armor. With the armor, he is almost even with the strongest apostles. Guts needs a power up to deal with the God Hand and the Idea of Evil. Possible powerups could be: letting the Black Armor devour him, sacrificing to the beherit, both, following the path of Skull Knight and acquiring a beherit sword. I think he would still need something better to defeat the God Hand. So maybe even scratch the beherit and the armor and look for something better.

Haunting imagery. Griffith is standing on the pained nameless faces of nobodies that he has built his entire ambition on. He owes THEM everything in a way. I wonder what the significance of Skullknight and Voids Eclipse was all about. Tons of tentacles and black hairy looking apostles (?)

YOU FOOLS!!! Guts will never use the Behelit, he would only activate it and then deny sacrificing whoever it is he should or would supposed to. Throughout the story Guts and Griffith have always been opposites of each other, Griffith being a false idol and Guts being an Ubermensch. Their is no way in hell that Guts wouldn't activate the Behelit because it would be a perfect time/opportunity to contrast him to Griffith.

When I think about it, the Guts+ Behelith is accurate representation of trauma... When you see the person or similar people, or even similar behaviour "your behelith will almost form face"to basically showcase, how much you are damaged, by the trauma... And let me tell you... I don't know with one is worst, being betrayed by spose or betrayed by community or both... But this much is pretty it , this is the feeling... Just something small and if it is not healed or it is relatively new, it can sent you to despair... Cool one... I didn't realise it before... Really nice 🙂.

@@AbdulKarim-ks2uf You're not making any sense here... What if she was already dead or Guts is literally forced to as his last option? You seem to forget that the child has been protecting them all this time, and that's the main reason why Griffith can't kill Casca or Guts, since the soul and body he fused with would never allow it. How Behelits work is that you sacrifice somebody you love or loved for the sake of power, and you need to also feel hatred for this person as well, which is why Guts couldn't be sacrificed by the Count since he didn't even know Guts. It is also highly likely that the Godhand won't stand Griffith to some point and would be more than happy to betray him if they saw him as unfit to be among them, especially now with him being fused and hampered by the Child.

My not so good theory: I believe there is a high possibility Guts uses his behelit to fight Griffith and possibly the God hand. 1st Reasoning: Guts is in a point of utter defeat. Was humiliated by Griffith's beyond strength/capability. What guts witnessed on elfhelm after casca got her conscious back. The joy and happiness guts saw from a distance of casca enjoying her life with guts' gang. He would use the behelit to sacrifice what he holds most dear.. his dragon slayer sword... so casca would be able to live a life of enjoyment. Sacrifice Reasoning: A bit far fetched of guts using his behelit and sacrificing his sword but is it not a possibility? The time he wasnt by his sword during his stay at Godo's cave when he came back for casca... after not sleeping for days if not weeks but yet still was unable to sleep without his sword by his side. Continuing 1st Reasoning: Casca is unable to live a life with guts without the "PTSD". Guts knows this. I believe he's going to turn himself what he hates most so he could potentially kill the person he hates most. Making it the ultimate sacrifice...if that makes sense :/ Please reply if you have any questions with my not so good theory. Its a lot more clear in my head than what I'm typing down :/

I don't think people can use inanimate objects for a sacrifice remember the egg didn't have a person so he had to use himself.I believe the sacrifice has to be a person so that it would carry some emotional weight and remove the persons humanity.

Great video! I've been wondering about the Sword of Actuation recently. Are thos Bhelit's still active? If so can the sword itself be used for a sacrifice? Would the power of the hypothetical Apostle created from the sword be as powerful as a God Hand member? Just a thought. Also if Guts were to make a sacrifice, it could possibly be The Moonlight Boy..in essence he'd be using Griffith as a sacrifice since Griffith is at this point a dual spirit. Which would be odd because Griffith is also Femto. Just a possible crazy twist I've speculated on.

i think everyone has forgot about the fact that guts already has the brand of sacrifice and so does casca. correct me if im wrong, but that was the first time a branded person, whos supposedly doomed to be sacrificed, would escape the so called eclipse due to skull knight saving both of them. im not really making a theory or speculating but wouldn't the outcome be different if Guts activated his behelit because hes branded? I understand Flora has done magic to sort of temporarily manipulate the brand which i think is also somewhat overlooked by other events. Let me know what you think

i love the theory that in order to kill griffith, guts needs to get rid of his own monsterosity in him including the berzerker armor. after all, it was stated that to kill a monster you need to become one, but to kill a god, you need to be a man.
