The recipes are for different traps/explosives that you can't make in the game unless you start as an Engineer.

Drove deep into LV on my fire arms only (mostly) survivor and saw 3!!! more katanas, 2 were in big hordes and i left them, but the 3rd one was on the highway by himself, so got that one. That would make the number of Katanas ive seen & got at 6!!! in this playthrough!! It seems once its later in the game, and you find the first one they just keep spawning. I thought i could drive into LV and setup a base somewhere but its proved more difficult than i thought, for one its over a year in game now and the vegetation is grown thick everywhere, areas that had long clear lines of sight are choked with trees, and its a major pain, and dangerous. Two, its been a while since ive been in LV and i'd forgot just how many Z's roam around in there.

3 katanu reebes!! wth haha, thats some luck right there, at least now you know the area, once you get settled go back stir up some noise and i bet they show up katana in gut xD, i got one of my big trucks stuck in the shrubs outside of the lv checkpoint on the far side away from what is that valley station, any how it took me ages cutting them all down in a driveway just so i could back it up to the house i wanted to set up a hideout in lmao, fighting off the zeds and cutting bushes and then i go jump in a shed window only to get nailed and subsequently die

One thing ive noticed is that when your box van or truck is fully loaded, it changes its handling, making it way more easier to tip over in hard turns.

And they'll get stuck easier too I found that out the hard way and had to axe shrubs down to get the thing free xD

ah ya someone earlier mentioned it, the whole set has great insulation its a grand idea, i believe i have almost every piece of it!

@@-FireNation- I believe they were talking about the riot gear which is a whole body set. There's a set up of SWAT gear that is more individual, for example the jacket gives really great insulation, as do the pants, but because they are separate pieces of gear you don't have to give up wearing other things.

i wear like 5 pieces of storage gear. backpack, a couple vest like you got, leg pouchs, hip pouch. lol im always heavy, but if i for some reason find myself walking thru the woods on the other side of the map and wreck my car, im pretty good to go. Extra food, all medical supplies covered, as well as plenty ammo.

those chest pieces are really good, their reduction is the best i think i've seen. once you get to a certain point will a leveled character you can go full tank mode with the gear and carrying items. run speed and combat modifiers be damned, nothing can get ya if it cant get close!

@-FireNation- i think the character im playing now is 2 or 3 months in. I have the raven creek with Hive mind and haven't even got in the city yet. I messed my setting up, the zombies are slow during the day and once night comes, I can hardly get rid of the horde, unless I burn them. Lol

i remember using flashlights for building exterior lights that took the regular green batteries but they died so dam quick it was awful having to replace them every other day, maybe those you mentioned are better? i would hope so for lvl 5, rack my brain on how to level it that high haha i only ever take things apart suppose you probably get decent exp crafting items from the tree

@@-FireNation- yeah i save the full sets for winter and summer i end up in daisy dukes a singlet the knee pads elbow pads gloves and neck protection and some sort of bullet proof vest for best protection

I think by default the pause game is f2, I rebound mine but it's in the settings near all the time forward key bindings it'll allow you to pause in the map and you can exit the map with escape without un pausing
