Gold Edition battery from Mymaxmods Best Installation procedure.
Before touching scooter for battery upgrade - install to scooter firmware for this battery.
For unlocked controllers simply download firmware from: mymaxmods.com/installation/
choose: Gold Edition
If you are using a New Scooter with black case controller, you will need a New controller as well to do this upgrade!!! Choose the German Version Ninebot Max D Controller. This controller will support up to 60V. Make sure kers are disable on set ups.
Connectors between controller and motor upgrade are require on this installation.( MR60. 3 pin 60A)

I bought this battery in January 2021 and used 14 month worked great!!!
Max speed reached loaded on G2 Motor, 25mph and downhill 28mph.
Max speed reached loaded with single Fatmax motor, 30mph and 34 downhill. This is accurate data using Mymaxmods firmwares.

Great video. I just ordered one from mymaxmods. This video will make my install project easier. Isn’t KZfaq wonderful? I remember back in my younger years when I’d buy a kit or something needing assembling/fixing and all I’d get would be a poorly written instruction manual. Those days sucked!

I used Wago connectors instead of the MR60. Works nicely! Wago is rated at 32 amps and the connection is rock solid with them. No soldering needed that way. Just a simple crimp of the 6 wires and put into the Wago and close the clamps.

Thank you for the great video. i believe you covered everything that was required to be explained. I only have one question - can you install the controller facing the other way so the connections are not facing the baterry? it seems a reasonable solution that will ensure no cable is ever going to be squeezed from any potential battery move to the back. I am sure ppl thought about it as well but since you are not doing it i assume its not possible?

Yes you can install it facing back, which is best for wiring and components as the recharger its removed… take a look of video of how to make the scooter dual motors. Just a prevention as we know those connectors get damage with scooter stock battery...

Thank you. The connectors upgrade is necessary for those who ride in places where is many hills or simply because there is tall people and weight a little more than for what the scooter is designed for and of course is best to upgrade connectors during battery installation! :) You can get them from Amazon or AliExpress. What was that module thing close to the rear wheel just behind the speed controller? it didn't go back in after your 48v battery upgrade

Thats the original recharger that comes with scooter. When you install the 48v internal that part comes out as choice as is not needed we remove it. 48V internal comes with its own recharger and no need that. :)

Just curious if you can use any after market voltage dashboard for the gold battery. My max mods currently only has the battery itself for sale. The option with the voltage dash isn't available. I'd like to purchase the battery but also have the dashboard.

Connectors are optional. Regardless if you are using your regular scooter or upgraded.

I install all the time this batteries and mostly extended which are bigger than the one on video. They dont move at all neither vibration move them. If you cant get the sponge heat resistant for it simply use the packaging that comes with Sharkset and pressure it from the sides making sure all wires are off the way. My installations batteries dont fall even when putting scooter on stand possition without the battery cover. I posted a video on FB groups when I did this videos. If you dont secure the battery you are putting in risk of damage as well damage controller or wiring.

Hey Nelson thank you for watching my video. The battery has it own BMS and dont need additional wires. As per the white connector that is for the recharger port. Battery comes with it own recharger so that part is removed when installing the battery. Ninebot stock battery 18ml on sport mode from full battery to 0. Gold Edition 36-40Ml Sport mode. however this could varied depending on how heavy the person is or what extra weight person is actually putting on. MyMaxMods Has this batteries. Make as well for other scooter models.

Yes. Rebuilt completely :( all electronics would need to be replace. You could actually turn it into a stronger machine! Mymaxmods has the most wanted parts. Start with a 48v battery. Add the Fatmax then the rest of parts would be controller, dash, lights throttle and brake sensor… DIY follow us on ESnKaz FB! I have done rebuilds from scratch and scooters turn to be great!

I believe you can. You can consult with MyMaxMods I helped someone install the range extender for 36 which works great as well. I thing they already have the 48V external.

I’m concerned about the electronics, this motor controller and everything else it was built for 36v, and now you introducing 48v, I believe this will cause the electronics getting burn down the line. Please explain.!.!.!

Hi Gio thank you for your note :) first of all I didn’t introduce this item! Its being use by thousands of people around the world so I decided to help many users in how to install. Upgrades for vehicles had happened since the first vehicle was invented therefore now we have such a fast vehicles. Because there has been people working doing research to make that happen. The ninebot max is one of the best scooters in the world and people loves because is a machine designed to hold up and work under stress under muddy and rainy days! Don’t underestimate this machine! And again due to this amazing innovation and great work from Segway and giving us such a great machine! We sometimes come up with ideas to help people achieve what they need. If your are concern about it simply do not use upgrades on your scooter, believe me there is a lot of people who use their scooters without upgrades But! they look very unhappy when we overpass them :)

Power doesn’t depend only on voltage and amps. If you to add another battery then you need a motor for it such as FatMax. 48v is more than enough for the G1/G2 motors. Going above will burn those motors fast.

before installing battery/batteries need to install FW according to new voltage you are adding.

@@cristosimao4929 Video is for the battery installation in the scooter. Firmwares for each battery are to be download from Mymaxmods website. Then follow instructions for software installation then once that is done then you will need to install the battery. Please follow EsnKaz group if you have questions feel free to post there.

The aftermarket battery do not have the data cable , is it ok to leave the plug unconnected from controller board ?

Hi Yu, If you are just doing installation for the battery and not updating wires, you should not be unplugging anything else more than the battery connectors and plugging new battery. Just make sure to discharge controller fully after you disconnect controller by pressing the dashboard button a couple of times.

@@alexyu111 Correct. Gold edition doesn't need to connect to controller. and if you see the video fully you will see what else to remove from scooter so you dont have the extra weight on it for no reason. :)

@@alexyu111 I strongly suspect they are the balance connectors I believe which help charge the lithium battery evenly. Kind of concerning this replacement battery does not have this as it will lead to problems down the line which could cause inflation and damage

I’m sure it is. This was not my scooter. As well this is a regular. The one I use an extended one bigger than this one. In my double the range. Tested on sport mode only.

We just tested last week the Actual Gold edition battery rider is 2010 lbs and only got out of it 17miles when scooter shot off with fatmax motor installed on speeds between 10-25mph which was disappointing as back in the days when this video was loaded battery was bigger and range was 20miles range leaving a 15% and with the big one that used the entire space of scooter battery compartment to a max. range of 32miles. As you can compare in this and the new battery is about 2.5 inches shorter and about 5 inches shorter than big battery.

Hey after I installed the battery I started getting error 24 on my dash and have checked the control board to make sure everything was installed properly what do you think could be the issue

That happened because you didn’t install the firmware for 48v. You need to install the firmware before installing the upgraded battery.

Don't understand the weight thing? You add the controller on the scale to even out the weight difference, and then you reinstall it!

What is added to stock battery on the scale is the recharger. Stock recharger is not needed on scooter when gold edition its installed. battery plus recharger equals extended gold edition weight.

48v Battery fully charge its 54.4v however you can only charge battery to 95% 53.9v otherwise controller get melted. Upgrading a controller it could work but you will never get the torque and speed another system would give. Custom made. 22gauge flat stainless still with a phone bracket. Easy to make. Paint and fold to size. Screw it. There won’t be a perfect meter holder than that. All those glued ones and bulky sold around are bad.

You can simply replace the internal battery with a 48v or 52v and replace the stock controller with a D controller and add a custom firmware and you have a 28-35mph nice scooter. Above that front suspensions need replacement. You could also simply add a 24v external and convert to 60v and add d controller.

I greet you from Croatia from the city of Split! these days a new controller is coming to me from aliex because my speed is limited to 25 kmh and when I hack it with xiaodash and change the region, 35 should be able to go, now if only after that I install that big 48 V battery, is it ready for driving or do I need to install something again, or are there enough custom regions on xiaodash?

As per you can see in video battery fit perfectly :) Once you get the battery simply remove original and install new one. This apply to batteries that replace the stock. MyMaxMods.

You need to install the firmware for your battery. Battery makers are supposed to give you a firmware according to your new battery power. Unless you made it then you will need to make a firmware for 48v.

No data cable....This stuff is very unsafe...On each charge,bms always balances out cells to make sure they are even,so without it,this is just waste of money.

@@salehdinkhah6854 I’m sorry have been a bit busy and short answers have been provided. This video is bit old and battery shown here was for Ninebot Max g30. Looks a bit bigger than new batteries. Contact mymaxmods I know they make the LP version as I have installed several to peoples scooters. :)

@@salehdinkhah6854 If you are planing to upgrade to 48V on LP Scooter if controller its unlocked then yes after battery all you will need is motor/controller phase wires connectors upgrade. If controller locked then you will need a new controller with firmware according to company you buy the battery and controller. They should provide you with all tools and info for installation. Maxmods I know they have all you need for a successful installation. I have a lot of videos in this channel for the Ninebot parts installations. Just remember to make the questions to whatever place you are buying parts from and once you are fully inform then purchase your parts.
